In response to the experiences of isolation, uncertainty and division 2020 has brought to the collective human experience and the fact we are heading into winter and soon the holidays, I feel in my heart that we need to be brought together with familiar and new faces to engage in meaningful conversations that encourage connection, sharing and a general feeling of being seen, heard and valued. I've followed the lead of other grassroots movements and decided to create the virtu...al space for such conversations to happen. I call it "Building Bridges Through Conversations." This is my antidote to 2020. The first one I'm hosting is next Thursday and Friday evenings 7-9pm (Yes, this is a two night event!) and the theme is "Giving Presence" just in time for the holidays! I would love to have you join me! You can visit the Eventbrite page for more info and to register: https://bit.ly/3ncHOT5 I hope to see you there! As always, thank you for your ongoing support! peace + love + joy, Chantelle

Tonight’s Healing Humanity mindfulness talk introduces Asteya (Sanskrit: non-stealing) As straightforward as this may sound, how does it apply to racism and other social injustices? How does it tie into Ahimsa, Satya and Aparigraha? How do we practice this in our daily lives beyond not physically taking something that does not belong to you? (Hint: it’s harder than you think!) . Find out tonight by joining the discussion! . Visit the Prana Mama Facebook page for detail...s! #mindfulliving #endracism #bethechange #bettertogether #unity #asteya #yogawisdom See more

THANK YOU Coachcarolynm inviting me as your first guest on your new interview series for YouTube and allowing me to share what I feel is the most important call to action every human on this planet needs to answer now, which is healing humanity. This is just as much about taking internal action as it is taking action 'out there' in the world. It is not a quick fix, but a lifelong commitment to each other that will benefit all of humanity and the planet. Please watch and if you like what you hear, join me in the "Prana Mama Food for Thought Group" here on Facebook so we can start taking care of our little corner of the world <3

Now that COVID-related restraints are loosening, are we just going to go back to the way things were? If you found yourself pondering some of life's big questions during your time spent sheltering in place, you will enjoy this discussion between Chantelle and Kevin Karas, executive director of Elevate Akron, in Akron, Ohio. You'll learn a little about Kevin and what he does, but rubber really hits the ground when the topic of living in an intentional community comes up. Ironically, while this conversation took place just before the murder of George Floyd, it is even more relevant now in terms of creating a kinder and more compassionate society. We would love to hear your thoughts! http://insig.ht/gm_134602

Honoured to have been asked by Asha Supaul to help create a healing space for our community just before the #blacklivesmatter peaceful protest tomorrow. I will be offering a grounding yoga class followed by a healing meditation. Social distancing will be in full effect. This is also a good alternative to show support if unable to attend the protest. Bring your own mat and/or blanket to practice with, as well as a water bottle. Come with an open heart and positive intentions. 1pm @ Victoria Park I hope to see you there

Dear Friends, This is a time of self-inquiry. We all need to look within and take accountability for what we have or have not been doing to contribute to skin colour determining whether or not a human being is worthy of being treated with respect and dignity. If one is serious about mindful living, one must expect to find ugliness within. If our practice is potent, it will shine the light on all that we do not want to see in our individual and collective lives and once you s...ee, you cannot unsee. Is there shame and guilt when you make these discoveries? YES. When used appropriately, shame and guilt are tools for learning and positive change. It’s a stage to move through, not a house to inhabit. One must forgive herself, vow to do better and take accountability for each action moving forward. Often this includes going back and making things right: apologizing where you have wronged another, being helpful where you would have normally turned a blind eye, wanting to make up for lost time from when you were sleepwalking (living on autopilot)... It also means showing compassion to those who remain asleep because that was once you. This is what it means to be awake. I’ve been seeing a lot of judgement cast up on people trying to make a positive change. Who are we to judge? How can one possibly know the journey or intentions of another? And why, at this particular time would you want to suppress or criticize ANY positive contribution? Follow and apply the credo, cause no harm to self or others to every situation. If you don’t like something, is it because it’s causing harm or because it isn’t what you prefer? Leave room for innocent error, but keep you eye always on intention. Stay tender with yourself and others. These are challenging times https://youtu.be/ArAGTLjTd0Q

Understanding the nature of things (and people) is the means to fully accepting what is and feeling what needs to be feltnot what resistance would have us feel. Then we can get on with appropriate action instead of reaction. Sounds easy, but this too, is a practice #mindfulness #acceptance #rightaction #mindfulliving
