Powell River Curling Club 28.11.2020

By now I'm sure you've heard the latest updates from our Provincial Health Officer. Curling is now included in the list of all sports that must be shut down for now. In person events and meetings are also on hold. While we could do the whole AGM by Zoom, we're going to postpone it for at least two weeks.... It might slightly increase the chances of an in-person AGM option, but it will allow us to have just one meeting to also: - include an ordinary resolution to apply for the new government CEBA Loan of $20,000 (50% forgivable) - include a special resolution to change our constitution (purposes) to what was recommended by a committee in 2018 (our 2019 Society Transition application and bylaws have been approved). Stay tuned - we may have the new AGM date announced in days... It might be only available via Zoom, but would be great to have you there to ensure quorum, get updates on our future and see where we stand now. And hopefully a January startup will be possible once again. On behalf of the Board and Staff, thanks to all of you for your patience and following our safety guidelines that kept us open and safe for play.

We're still open for curling. Updates next week. Safety Plans may have to change but we're hoping curling can continue on safely.

Wearing glasses? The hockey visor spray doesn't keep your glasses from fogging up. Works best if you fold a Kleenex up one inch from side edges and then fold up lengthwise in 3/4" folds, placing under top ridge. Adding a piece of white tape (even scotch tape works) along the top edge to seal to your skin is guaranteed to work. Or pass a bylaw that everyone has to wear glasses!
