This is designed to help ensure these customers are able to shop in less crowded aisles in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Colemans stores across the province will open their doors solely to seniors, those with disabilities and the immunocompromised for the first hour of operation (store hours vary by location and can be found at colemans.ca). The dedicated shopping hour will begin on Tuesday, March 17th and will be in place until further notice. DYK - Every 20 seconds someone, somewhere on the planet, loses a foot due to diabetes. Foot ulcers are the starting point of more than 80% of these amputations, and they could be prevented!
I often see and treat clients with these common toenail problems. Everyone can benefit from proper foot care particularly people with ingrown nails, nail fungus and nail trauma.
Why is Foot Care Important for Diabetics? If you a diabetic l, it is especially important that you care for your feet properly and pay attention to any changes that may occur. High blood glucose levels can cause damage to the nerves that lead to your feet (also known as diabetic neuropathy). When the nerves are damaged it is possible to develop wounds on your feet that go unnoticed. These wounds can lead to serious infection and possibly amputation. Taking the proper steps to care for your feet can prevent this from happening.
Important information for anyone who may need some extra assistance.
