See our twitter for full info. #Repost @halifaxsocialnetwork Hi Halifax, Demetrius (Meech) here I’m one of the Co-Founders of the Halifax Social Network and I’m also a citizen of the Bahamas. My heart has been broken for my country, we’ve been devastated by the recent hurricane Dorian. Our country is in great need of help from everyone around the world. We need encouragement, prayers, donations and supplies to help my people get back on their feet and help the country rebuild. Bahamians everywhere are coming together to be strong for one another, and as human beings we need to support our brothers and sisters that are affect by this tragedy. Here in Halifax and Nova Scotia we have such a big Bahamian community here that has been affect by this. Being so far away from home and seeing the destruction that has taken place over our country has hit us HARD. We all come to Canada for a better education and a way of life and most of us stay and become apart of this city and this beautiful province we call our home. I’m asking for your help in this time of need. We’re asking for donations of all sort to help my people in the Bahamas. I’m personally going to fly home to the Bahamas to help as much as I can, and this money raised will be used help those affected directly. I’ve been in contact with local organizations, churches, and a few leaders who are leading teams of people on the ground helping. Our country is in need of anything and everything that can help us in our time of need. I’m asking for your help, the help of everyone. You many have visited for vacation, know someone personally who’s been affect, or know of a friend who’s close to victims who has been affect by the hurricane. We all have connections to the Bahamas in some sort of way. . . The rest of details are posted on our Facebook page See more
