Pregnancy Care Centre 07.12.2020

As 2020 comes to a close, we want to give thanks to the Lord for giving us another year of increased opportunities to extend help and hope to individuals experiencing an unexpected pregnancy. We saw 1100 new clients this past year a higher number than we have served in any previous year! Many of you have been asking how COVID has affected our ability to serve, and how you can help. A financial gift of any amount can provide increased support for the greater number of clien...ts we anticipate serving in 2021. If you are planning your Year End gifts for 2020, would you prayerfully consider the Pregnancy Care Centre as we continue to serve families making life-altering pregnancy decisions in our city? Through your financial donations, women and families across Toronto are being affirmed that they and their children are valued and precious. As we celebrate your generosity from this year's Virtual Fundraiser, we also look back to previous PCC Dinners and praise God for the ways he is working in our alumni's lives. At a prior PCC Dinner Jodie-Anne shared about her emotional struggles navigating her unexpected pregnancy and how she found support at the PCC at that critical time in her life. Her daughter Athena is now 10 years old and Jodie-Ann is a proud mom and moving forward with new initiatives in her life! This... is just a taste of how your support is leaving a legacy that will last for many generations. Jodie-Anne's original PCC Dinner interview is available to watch here: Part 1: https://youtu.be/HQSWt332IR0 Part 2: https://youtu.be/7DD74OTEIbM

We cannot thank you enough for being the best support community! Because of your generous giving, our Fall Event ‘It Starts With Love’ raised over $95,000 to continue supporting women and families who are making life-altering pregnancy decisions. During this difficult time your outpouring of love has been strong and greatly appreciated. Thank you for standing behind this ministry and showing mothers and fathers all over our city that they are not alone.... The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26

Many of our clients begin their journey at the PCC wondering if abortion is the right decision for them, then courageously choose to have their child instead. We try to follow up with our clients afterward to see how they feel about the decisions they made. According to a Regret & Wellbeing survey we conducted with 150 PCC clients in 2019, the vast majority reported positive feelings about their decision to have their child. This is very exciting news for us, and is affirmati...on of the difference that together we are making in the lives of other. The graphics here summarize responses to three questions we use to gauge our clients' feelings about their pregnancy decisions. Here is a more detailed breakdown of their responses. 1. I regret the choice that I made. Strongly agree: 0.7% Agree: 0.7% Neither agree nor disagree: 1.4% Disagree: 13.6% Strongly disagree: 84% 2. The decision was a wise one. Strongly agree: 69% Agree: 25.2% Neither agree nor disagree: 2.7% Disagree: 0.7% Strongly disagree: 2% 3. It was the right decision. Strongly agree: 90% Agree: 7.5% Neither agree nor disagree: 2% Disagree: 0% Strongly disagree: 0.7% We hope you are as encouraged as we are!

As a new refugee to Canada, Abigail had a lot to think about when she found out she was pregnant. She wanted an abortion because the birth father wanted nothing to do with her and the baby. Having just arrived in Canada, now didn't feel like the right time to manage this pregnancy alone. Hope was dim. It was Abigail's doctor that referred her to the Pregnancy Care Centre. With so much uncertainty, she needed a listening ear. When she felt listened too, validated and affirme...d that she was not alone Abigail saw a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe it could be possible to have her child. Abigail started to come out to prenatal classes run by our volunteer nurse, Nancy. She was consistent and never missed a session. We connected her to housing, and by the end of her pregnancy she broke the news to her parents- who lovingly embraced her. Her fear of the unknown, worries of what could happen and feelings of isolation could have caused Abigail to choose different path. But thanks be to God that today we celebrate baby Marsha and her precious life. "PCC has been the best friend, the best home I could ever ask for. A blessing sent from above. God Bless you!"-- PCC Mom Abigail Love to choose life Love to offer practical help and hope to those in distressing situations Love to embrace the fears together It starts with love and it starts with you! Join us as we gather virtually on Saturday November 7th at 7:30pm for 'It Starts With Love' a fundraising event for the PCC. With your help more families like Abigail and Marsha can know that they are loved and that abortion is not their only option. Kanaka and Giri had a very hard decision to make, a decision that would change their lives forever. As immigrants to Canada, they were ready to start building their lives together. When they found out they were pregnant, overwhelming fear about their future began to erupt. Being new to Canada with no family around, and with Kanaka having no health insurance or work work, the couple felt that abortion was the route they needed to take.... After meeting with the PCC, Kanaka and Giri left with much to think about. It wasn't an easy decision for them, but two days later they walked into the PCC with a smile on their faces. They decided to parent! Kanaka shared her words of thanks: I am so grateful for the love and support that Giri and I received for our daughter! We both see how God has blessed us in choosing to parent. It all starts with love. Love to see each client as unique and worthy of love despite their present circumstances Love to offer life-transforming options to those in hard circumstances & Love to offer help to new parents so they can thrive in their God given role. It starts with love and it starts with you! Join us as we gather virtually on Saturday November 7th at 7:30pm for 'It Starts With Love' a fundraising event for the PCC. Have you been thinking of getting involved with this year's fundraising event 'It Starts With Love' but unsure of how to do so safely? In an effort to keep our community of supporters safe during these unprecedented times, we have a few ideas to share with you as you support the PCC. Option 1: Host a Virtual PCC Watch Party... You can be a host for this event virtually by gathering friends and family over Zoom (or another platform) and watch the livestream together. You can invite your small group, church members, coworkers, neighbours and extended family. Option 2: Host a Gathering with your Social Bubble As a PCC Watch Party host you can invite people within your social bubble to your home. Together you can watch the PCC Fundraising Event 'It Starts With Love' in a safe and socially-distanced environment. You can have a social night and make the PCC your cause. * As a host you will receive orientation training and support from a PCC staff member, and the ability to have a staff member join you virtually for a Q & A segment on November 7th. Option 3: Watch at Home with your Immediate Family If you prefer to stay in this year and make this a solo event with your spouse or family, you can join us on the evening of Saturday November 7th at 7:30pm and tune into the livestream program- just like you would with an online church service! Option 4: Donate Not a fan of virtual gatherings? That's okay we understand. Would you still consider helping us reach our fundraising goal of $100,000?
