Happy Mother’s Day from Sunnyside Pre-K!

We’ve been learning about Community Helpers at the Genesis Centre Pre-Kindergarten Academy. Children were given the opportunity to play in our 'Doctor's Office' pretend play centre. They took turns imagining they were doctors, nurses and patients. We also had a 'Fire Station/Ambulance' centre where the children could choose to pretend they were fire fighters or paramedics racing to put out a fire or rescue someone sick or hurt.

At the Genesis Centre Pre-Kindergarten Academy we celebrated Earth Day. We listened to books about how to take care of our Earth and discussed how we can all help. We finger painted paper plate Earths and reused toilet paper rolls to create beautiful butterfly art. We also read the book: "The Lorax" and made 'Truffala' Trees.

Spring Has Sprung here at the Genesis Centre Pre-Kindergarten Academy! We have been learning about signs of spring such as birds returning from their travels south and animals having babies or birds laying eggs. We planted bean seeds and have been very excited to watch them grow! We learned about the weather in spring and focused on U is for Umbrella while making umbrella crafts. As well, we listened to the book: "The Tiny Seed" by Eric Carle. We used potatoes to stamp a circle shape to form colourful flowers and we discussed the parts of a flower.

We had so much fun with our dinosaur unit at Marion Carson!
