Premier Ball Hockey League 14.07.2021

The latest update from the Canadian Ball Hockey Association on COVID-19.

Premier Ball Hockey League 04.01.2021

Hello Premier Ball Hockey members, As BC starts down the road of economic recovery and things commence trending in the direction of more normal, we are still hopeful that a 2020 ball hockey season will be possible. We are currently awaiting the parameters of how we can participate in our sport in a safe manner from the BC government. A final decision will be made during the first week of June. If we are given the parameters from our health officials/government and are able to... operate the league within those parameters, we will be doing so with a no later than June 15th start date. If we are not able to operate safely within the parameters provided by our provincial health officer or if parameters are not finalized in time for the league to start up by June 15, then the league will be cancelled until 2021. If the league is cancelled, all league reps will be refunded their full league fees (in the same manner that it was paid in except if cash was paid, it will be refunded via cheque). Best regards and stay well! Fernando

Premier Ball Hockey League 26.12.2020

Hello team reps and game officials: The following message is from the Canadian Ball Hockey Association: On April 17th the CBHA has announced that the 2020 National Championships will not be taking place.... The CBHA has also sent out the following message to its member provinces: We have been closely monitoring the events relating the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in all Provinces. The CBHA Board of Directors have made the decision to extend the suspension of all CBHA sanctioned activities (including those of our member Provinces and Leagues), effective Friday April 17, 2020 until Monday June 1, 2020. This date may change due to the nature of the situation. If and when the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, there would not be enough time for teams, players, organizers and officials to plan for these tournaments (including getting flights, hotel rooms, etc.). Hence the various nationals tournaments are not going to take place this year. The message below is your league update: The Premier Ball Hockey League will not commence league play until it is safe to do so. We are also not able to commence league play until the civic arenas have been re-opened which at this point will not be before June 1. All information from our government authorities indicates that they are considering commencing the lifting of restrictions in mid-May but this will be a very slow process. We may be able to push the provincial tournaments to a later weekend however it will be dependent upon our provincial executives and member leagues to be on board with this. We would be able to get a season of play in if it starts in early June. We may be able to get a season in if it commences in mid-June. Anything beyond that would prove challenging to say the least. Please be rest assured that if the season does not take place, in event that arenas do not re-open or it is unsafe to commence play, your playing fees will be fully refunded. We remain hopeful that the season will be able to be played. We encourage our members to stay up-to-date about the pandemic through: Provincial Health Services Authority: http://www.bccdc.ca/health-in/diseases-conditions/covid-19 Health Canada: https://www.canada.ca//2019-novel-coronaviru/symptoms.html website World Health Organization: https://www.who.int/ It is important that we stay informed along with doing our best to protect our family, especially those that are older and those that have compromised immune systems. Stay well and healthy! Best regards, Fernando

The message below is your league update: The Premier Ball Hockey League will not commence league play until it is safe to do so. We are also not able to commence league play until the civic arenas have been re-opened. Hello team reps (and potential team reps) along with game officials: The meeting taking place this Saturday at noon at Bill Copeland Sports Centre (Lakeview room) is on as scheduled. All other deadlines and dates will remain the same with the following exception: The league will commence play on Tuesday, April 21, one week later than previously planned. For most people, the new coronavirus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. For some, especially ol...der adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia. The vast majority of people recover from the new virus. According to a number of web sites including cnbc.com , a coronavirus vaccine will begin human trials within two weeks. We also encourage our players to stay up-to-date through: Health Canada: https://www.canada.ca//2019-novel-coronaviru/symptoms.html website World Health Organization: https://www.who.int/ It is of utmost importance that we implement this delay in the season start in order to ensure the health of our players and game officials. We are hopeful that five and a half weeks from now, the pandemic will be better understood by the public and that it will be well on its way to being completely under control.
