What is group Policy and why is it important? Group policy is a windows Pro, ultimate and enterprise feature that allows users to control a number of settings on a computer. Group Policy is used a lot in domain environments. These settings can be user, computer or a combination of both. But, incorrect configuration of some Group Policy Objects (GPO's) settings can lead to various problems, even locking you out of your computer. There may come a time when it is necessary to reset the security settings in Windows 10 back to the defaults. Perhaps you made the wrong setting change while configuring them or a malware infection may have corrupted the security. SCAM TIME This is the time of the year when email, text, web hijackers etc. are on the rise because people are too trusting. You might get an email that will exploit the pandemic saying things like "With 2021 here and the pandemic issues, we have locked your account to force verification to protect your account". Other scams are a drive by download when you access a web site and you get a red screen with a 1-800 number to call and a voice saying that your documents are in ...jeopardy. Others are email scams saying your apple account, Microsoft account, YouTube account etc. has been locked and to click on the link to verify. DO NOT ever click on any links and never call any 1-800 numbers. For the 1-800 drive by, reboot your computer and delete all your temp files to get rid of it - That's all. For emails, delete and definitely do not respond to any unsubscribe options as you are verifying that your email address is active and you will then get more scams. For any phone calls as they still happen, tell them to take a flying leap off the scam train and get a real job. Also, with tax time coming up, tax based scams will be on the rise. Revenue Canada will never send you an email saying that you have a tax refund and to click on the link to claim it. Please exercise caution as this is a really bad time for scams and they make billions which is why it will never stop - Too many trusting and unsuspecting targets out there. My background is in computer security as I have been in the computer industry since 1992. I have has a lot of customers lose a lot of money - Especially when you allow the scammers to connect back to your computer, at that point getting all your usernames and passwords will take less than 5 seconds in the background and you will not even know that they have taken that information - It is that easy. NEVER allow anyone to connect back to your computer unless it is "YOUR" computer support technician that you know and trust.

Windows sandbox allows you to test software, open questionable attachments, open files, browse to websites that you are not sure of etc., all within a safe, protected environment. The sandbox environment runs separately from the host operating system and when you close it, all changes are immediately deleted so the next time you open it, you start from scratch again. https://youtu.be/ylNUhpYf0LY
