Women with SUPPORT breastfeed longer. So how can your partner support you before during and after your breastfeeding journey? . BEFORE- Take a breastfeeding class live or online TOGETHER! Think about questions to ask together and encourage each other to ask- there are no stupid questions! Before baby arrives, discuss ways you will split parenting responsibilities as evenly as possible (Have this conversation BEFORE the stress of a newborn makes emotions hot and temper sh...ort). DURING- Partners can really help by doing ANYTHING for momma and baby, and don’t wait for the momma to ask for help! Change diapers, wash bottles, bring momma drinks and snacks! Remember, you had a baby TOGETHER, it is not just momma’s baby, and not just momma’s responsibility. AFTER- Weaning can be super emotional. Talk together about feelings and emotions that arise. CELEBRATE and honor the end of your breastfeeding journey. There’s breastmilk jewelry, if that’s your thing, but a simple toast with a favorite beverage and a word of gratitude works well too! . Can a single mother still rock breastfeeding alone? HECK YES she can.... but support ANYWHERE you can get it will help you breastfeed more successfully and hopefully longer. (Even of that support is an Instagram breastpumping coach, ) . #breastfeeding #breastfedbabies #breastfedbaby #breastfeedingjourney #breastfeedingmom #breastfeedingawareness #breastfeedingmama #normalizebreastfeeding #breastfeedingtips #breastfeedingsupport #breastfeedingproblems #breastfeedingmum #breastfeedingwithoutfear #breastfeedingmommy #breastfeedingmommies #pumpingisbreastfeedingtoo #breastpumping #pumpingisbreastfeeding #lactation #lactationsupport #lactationeducation #lactationeducator #lactationhelp #breastmilk #breastmilkbaby #breastfeedingclass #momtobe2020 #newmom #newbaby #supportformom Posted withregram @pump_momma_pump See more
I love this post by @holistichealthphysio If you’re pregnant - you’ll want to learn Counter Pressure to help manage labour contractions (Sound On) Counter pressure is a technique I teach to my prenatal class clients and their partners, to use during contractions in labour to help with comfort. ... The sacrum is the triangular bone at the bottom of your spine that connects to both sides of your pelvis. If you find this technique relieving- try using it during contractions then take breaks in between. standing with hands forward leaning against wall leaning over a birth ball/chair/back of hospital bed sitting on a birth ball sitting backwards on toilet/chair sidelying in bed with peanut ball I recommend you have who ever is supporting you at your birth, practice this while you’re still pregnant so it’s not a sudden request (or forgotten) on labour day. Bonus - you may find this technique feels relaxing and relieving during pregnancy at home especially after a long day on your feet. #pregnancylife #labourandbirth #labouranddelivery #preggy #pregnantlife #childbirth #prenatalclasses #prenatalclass See more

Great advice from @dreamcometruesleepconsulting MYTH!!! I know that your mom or grandmother may have told to never wake a sleeping baby, but there are some instances where waking them is helpful. If your baby is sleeping past 7:30 am each morning it is a good idea to wake them. It’s recommended that all babies have a similar wake time each day, as this helps to regulate their circadian rhythm and as a result supports night sleep too. Newborns need to eat every 2-3 h...ours throughout the day, so it’s important to wake them so they don’t miss a feed. This helps to ensure they get enough calories during the day, so that once they are back to their birth weight (and your doctor gives you the okay) you can allow them to sleep longer stretches at night. By doing this you’re also helping to minimize any day/night confusion your little one may experience. Any nap that’s longer that 2 hours I recommend capping (in many cases) to keep your child’s day on track. If nap is getting too close to bedtime I recommend waking them to ensure an age appropriate bedtime. If you have a napping superstar and they have exceeded their recommended amount of daytime sleep, naps should be capped to minimize the risk of them interfering with night sleep. I get it, waking a sleeping baby isn’t always fun, but it can be so helpful for guiding them to the best overall sleep possible. Please keep in mind that these recommendations vary by age and each child’s unique sleep needs. #sleepmyth #sleepmyths #pregnancylife #preggy #pregnantlife #prenataclasses #prenatalclass #babysleepmyths #neverwakeasleepingbaby #neverwakeasleepingchild #bedtime #bedtimeroutine #naptime #infantsleep #newbornsleep #babysleep #toddlersleep #sleeptips #babysleeptips #parentingtips #daynightconfusion #sleepscience #fourthtrimester #sleepbetter #postpartumsupport #babysleephelp #sleepwell #sleephelp #sleepadvice #babycare See more
