Hi everyone! With the new cases of Covid-19 in Brighton and the surrounding area, please remember to stay home if you aren’t feeling well, or if you think you may have been exposed to one of the local cases. Anyone who thinks they may have been exposed should stay home for two weeks. If you are feeling good and haven’t been exposed to Covid-19, that’s great......We will see you at bowling! Don’t forget to wash your hands, wear a mask, and sanitize when you get to the lanes. Let’s keep each other safe and continue to have fun while we can!

Hi everyone. Just a heads up that I’ve decided to cancel YBC this Saturday and will be closing the lanes as the town is blocking off all the Main St. parking for a mini DBIA applefest. I don’t agree with this decision and don’t expect my bowlers to walk through a crowd of people during a pandemic. We will see you next weekend as normal!

Hi Everyone! To try to prepare for YBC in advance so that we can continue to take safety measures for this season, we will NOT be doing in-person registration. Please copy and paste the questions below, and send the answers to us as a direct message to the Presqu'ile Lanes YBC Facebook page. Please don't send them as a comment on this post, as your answers will then be able to be seen by all members of the YBC Facebook page, and will not remain private. The registration f...ee will remain at $30 this season and I can collect that on the first day of YBC, on Sept. 19th. I will release bowling times once I get a good understanding of our numbers and can split us up into smaller groups of manageable numbers for safety if need be. I will keep families together in the same time slot, unless otherwise requested. We are requesting that each family only brings one spectator each week (the driver?) so that we can maintain physical distancing and stay below our allowed maximum. Here is the age division information: Bowlasaurus: 3-5, not 6, as of December 31, 2020 Pee Wee: 6-7, not 8, as of December 31, 2020 Bantam: 8-10, not 11, as of December 31, 2020 Junior: 11-14, not 15, as of December 31, 2020 Senior: 15-19, not 20, as of December 31, 2020 Bowlasaurus' and PeeWees' each play 2 games per week, and the weekly dues are $9 Bantams, Juniors, and Seniors each play 3 games per week, and the weekly dues are $12 Rental shoes, YBC Shirts, most tournaments, year end banquet, special celebrations, and more, are included in the fees for all divisions. Please send me the answers to the following questions as a direct message to the Presqu'ile Lanes YBC Facebook page, and I will be in contact with start times once things are more finalized. The shirts are included as part of the weekly dues, but if the child would like their name/nickname embroidered on the shirt, there is a cost of $5. Would you like a name embroidered on the shirt? If so, what would you like embroidered? Do you give us permission to post pictures of your child taken throughout the season online on our YBC Facebook Page? If we have to have multiple shifts, would you prefer your child/children to bowl in the earlier or the later shift? I don't know times yet as I don't have final numbers, but for example start times could be 9am and 12pm. If you are concerned about some of our Covid-19 safety protocols or have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me (Gary) at 613-847-1313, and I'll do my best to answer your questions. Please remember that as per the local health unit, masks are required for everyone inside the bowling centre. YBC is starting soon!!!

Hi everyone! I'm sorry to announce that YBC is finished for the season. Once things settle down and it's safe to do so, I will arrange for a year end banquet and will be in contact. Please take care of yourselves until we get to see each other again!

I’m sure you’re already aware, but I wanted to make sure that I put this out there as a reminder to anyone who was going to the family twosome provincials, that it has been cancelled. Don’t forget to cancel your hotel rooms if you haven’t already done so.

Please note that effective Immediately we will be suspending operations at Presqu’ile Lanes until further notice. Even though we’ve taken extra precautions, we feel the need to go above and beyond to protect our staff and clientele. That being said, this is going to hurt financially, and we ask that you please remember to shop and use local businesses once things have cleared up. Thanks for understanding and sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We will be in touch when things reopen. Please make sure everyone knows of this decision. Thank you.

Attention YBC Bowlers and families, As a valued member of our bowling family, we wanted to reach out regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact on our community and families. We would like to reassure you that we are adhering to the Guidelines as the health and well being of our bowlers, their families, and our staff are our top priority. We will continue to monitor and implement the local and provincial recommendations as they’re announced.... We take pride at Presqu'ile Lanes and how it operates and would like to highlight the policies we have in place at the lanes to help our bowling families stay healthy and safe. Prevention Steps at the lanes: SO WE CAN KEEP BOWLING! - Sanitizer: We have sanitizer at the lanes, and we encourage you to utilize it frequently. - Hand washing: We encourage frequent hand washing (for at least 20 seconds before rinsing). Please wash hands before, during, and after bowling. - Discouraging close contact: We will not be giving hugs or hi-fives and are asking bowlers to skip those as well. Maybe instead, we can start using those bowling cheers we've been learning! - Surface Cleaning: We are wiping down frequently touched surfaces and equipment throughout the day. - Deep Cleaning: Each night and weekend we are deep cleaning the bowling centre. - Sneezes and Coughs: We are encouraging bowlers to cough and sneeze into their arms, not in their hands, however if you are feeling ill, have a fever or a cough, please stay home ! How you can help: - Don’t bring toys from home. - Don’t send your child to the bowling centre if sick, or if a family member is sick. - Don't bring in any outside food or beverages - Don’t break any formal quarantine/government restrictions. - Encourage your child to cough and sneeze into their arm not in their hand and proper hand washing. - Alert us if your child does have COVID-19 and have been to the bowling centre within the last 14 days so we can contact their peers. - Please don't attend bowling for the first two weeks after returning from travel to a high risk area In the coming days and weeks, we will continue to monitor the situation and pass along any pertinent information we gather. At this time Presqu'ile Lanes remains open unless or until directed otherwise. Each family is encouraged to make their own decision about coming to the lanes. Please do what you feel comfortable with and what makes the most sense for you and your family. The well being of our athletes and families is a top priority! Hi everyone! Presqu’ile Lanes is thinking of sponsoring a soccer team this year, but would really like to sponsor a team with some of our bowlers on it. If you’re playing soccer this year, can you please let me know so I can try to request a team with bowlers on it. Thanks. Apparently all I can get is a U10 team, so please let me know if you’re child will be on a U10 team and I’ll see what happens.

Another great day on the lanes for our YBC kids that participated in the Ontario Twosome Zone Round finals today. Bringing home the gold medal for her age group and moving onto the Provincial finals in April was Gracie. Also bringing home a medal today was Rachel (silver) and Jamie (bronze). A big congrats to all the kids that bowled today. Remember it’s not always about winning but more importantly..it’s about having fun!

In the event of a tie, the person who contacted us first will take the tickets. Bidding will only be accepted in dollar amounts. Bidding closes at 12pm on Thursday Feb 13, 2020. Tickets will be available for pickup Friday at the lanes. Winner will be required to pay with cash before tickets will be given out. Thank you and feel free to share.

Off to Provincials we go! Congratulations go out to Oliver, Thomas and coach Mike, Logan, Tristan and coach Angela and Savannah, Janelle and coach Tom. All 3 teams finished second in their divisions at the Youth National Four Steps tournament today and will be representing us on March 1. Good Luck everyone in your quest to make it to the National finals in Calgary!

Another great day on the lanes for Presqu’ile Lanes. Today at the Master Spring Youth bowling tournament we brought home a ton of medals. Finishing in first and going to provincial finals in March was Thomas, Savannah and Tom. Finishing a close second was Tyler, Veronika and Mike. Oliver, Janelle and Lily also won individual medals for their age divisions. Way to go ybc bowlers and their Masters!
