Wishing everyone well during this unfortunate crisis we are all affected by. Although a lot is happening and we're all spending much alone time these days than expected, I've witnessed a lot of silver linings on a day to day basis. Keep well. Keep healthy. Communicate because there is no need to feel or be alone. Hopefully we'll all learn something from this experience and be better towards one another in the long run.

It's day three of the Ukrainian Art Song Project's Summer Institute. Today meet the other two members of our esteemed faculty. Robert Kortgaard is an award-winning pianist who has performed solo with major Canadian orchestras and has given recitals in Canada, the U.S. and internationally. He is a favourite collaborator of many of Canada’s finest vocalists, instrumental soloists and chamber groups. He has been involved as an accompanist with the Ukrainian Art Song Project and... its Summer Institute. Albert Krywolt is one of Canada’s foremost collaborative artists. His career as a vocal coach and musician in opera and art song spans more than four decades, initially as resident music director of the Edmonton Opera Association, followed by 28 years on the music staff and as Chief Coach with the Canadian Opera Company. He has worked with some of the world’s greatest classical singers. Albert has been involved with the UASP since 2005 and is also an accompanist and faculty member of the Summer Institute. The Ukrainian Art Song Summer Institute concludes on Sunday, August 18 with the Ukrainian Art Song Summer Institute - Artists in Performance, a finale recital featuring performances by this year’s class of esteemed vocalists, accompanists, and hosted by Artistic Director Pavlo Hunka. Tickets are available at ukrainianartsong.ca but get them before they sell out.
