These are some of the reasons we are grateful to be Canadian: From mountains to beaches, prairies to islands...and everything in between, we live in a beautiful country if we look far enough back in the family tree, we are all either indigenous, immigrants or refugees...that gives us compassion, I think, for those different from us we have Tim Horton's AND Starbucks! We look out for each other We are oh so polite... hold doors for each other...say please and thank you...and we apologize. A lot. But better to be conscious of our impact on those around us, than to be oblivious Our healthcare system is second to none. We have never had to wait for urgent care, and we don't usually go into bankruptcy if we get sick. We are so grateful for those who work hard to keep us healthy especially in times of Covid our politics are crazy sometimes, but not insane. Last federal election, my husband and I discussed the leaders, and the issues...then voted opposite ends of the political spectrum. And we still like and respect each other-). Though I am pretty sure I was right... we have the freedom to be different, to march to the beat of our own drummers...and to let others do the same During this time of celebrating Canada...and in the weeks and months to come...let's be aware of what makes us different, and what we have in common...and to be grateful for all we have.
