'Storm Crossing the Trench' A moody 12"12" oil on canvas. . There's a landing in a cutblock that can be easily accessed from Deet trail, it's a great spot to get views of the Rocky mountain trench and watch the summer storms that roll in from west. Hints of magenta speak to fireweed that is about to bloom. I added trails and trees to this bathymetric linocut of Lost Lake which is located near Mackenzie BC. I did an online search for how many lakes in BC are officially named Lost Lake, there are twelve. This one is a nice pothole of a lake. . Of the trails shown, one is a ski trail and the other is a really old trail that gets some use I think. I completely forgot to put in the short bit of Lakeshore Trail...might be able to turn a tree into a trail. A rather beautiful yet unexpected sunset. The series of photos shows it progression while I was hiking on trails in the fireguard cutblock. Here are the top nine paintings from 2020! . It was a busy year, I learned alot, here are some highlights: . 1. I was accepted into a self-employment program, learned how to do market research, a business plan, start and run a business and much more. Thank-you @communityfuturesffg and WorkBC in Mackenzie it's been a pleasure working with you!... . 2. Saw my husband retire and start his own business as a trail builder....so much fun! Plus his support in with my venture...simply wonderful . 3. I was accepted into the Federation of Canadian Artists @fedofcdnartists as an Active Artist. Yay!!!!!!!!!!! . 4. I sold a bunch of paintings, got back into making earrings and learned how to use a small etching press for linocuts. . 5. Entered into a fantastic business relationship with @purplebicyclenaturalfoods, thank-you Cara you are amazingly supportive. . 6. Last but not least, receiving unbelievable support from the community, friends and from my family (my siblings and parents....love them all @mccormickcarmen) . Looking forward to 2021.
