If you are currently home more than usual (due to this viral interruption) then this is the BEST time to begin a repaint of your home. Start the interior and schedule the exterior season which is on the rise! Like myself painters are booking now. I feel great and I do ALL of the work myself no crew to make excuses for. . I use Sherwin Williams paint including Emerald, Duration and Resilience. Dont worry. I will pick up and deliver and apply all of the paint. Sit back and enjoy!

After removing a complete forest decal and skim coating the entire wall Im not usually a fan of adhesive wall decals. Having said that this one caught my eye. It would be a manageable repair when the time came to remove it. Nice!

I feel great about painting as another season begins. I have so many decades of film and photos. This is one of my favorite films filmed when I was 63. On the other side of this magnificent beachfront home I sprayed another graphic in the same color. Instead of an upside down "L" it is an upside down "U" clearly visible from the opposite side of Okanagan Lake. It was far more difficult to spray than this side. Not for technical reasons but because of the many bikini clan women tanning on the beach behind me. The Kelowna painters manual should have a section on "Proper Rubber Necking Techniques For Painters". If you look closely at this video you may pick out a blooper. I climbed the full length of the ladder and had forgotten to turn on my sprayer which is down on the ground!...

2008. The homeowner is amazing as a comedian and also a movie star from the Stargate movies, Mom is a partner in the mining industry. This is the home of a very hard working and well balanced family. The semi circular South West facing master bedroom refuge deck was my idea. The project was initially a simple roof over the front porch. Oops...

Stonebridge Constuction invited me back to paint another mini house that is extremely awesome thermally engineered planted in the back yard! Heres a taste.

A huge thanks to "L Painters" from Calgary who I assisted along with Darren (also from Kelowna) with painting the Royal Bank Building in Orchard Plaza. I love working with other good painters! Its not just working together its also about sharing ideas and experience. I learned a lot.

Its almost that time again. Time to put together a video review of my 2019 work. Some of you know that I stopped using Benjamin Moore products in 2018. For me personally it proved to be a very good decision. A video will be coming out before the spring that will show the improvements in productivity, customer satisfaction and cost effectiveness. To date with Sherwin Williams there hasnt been a single gallon of spoilage.

One of my favorite projects in Kelowna was restoring the Symes home adjacent to the Cove resort. The homes roof is suspended with original dock beams from Gellatly Bay where the shipping vessels once moored. That project saved its windows and cedar soffits. At their daughter and son in laws house the challenge was to rescue a beautiful home from a paint job gone wrong and of course to speak doggy.

I bought paint at this store. They made it in the back and it was good paint!

Early in 2008 a carpenter friend of mine (Emil Prychyn) was hired by a couple to build a porch over the entrance on this old North Vancouver home. Meg (its owner) preferred to stay dry for a spot immediately before she ventured out into the Vancouver rain. I remember Emils call. "Wayne, are you available to stain a small job in North Vancouver for me?" I was available and my answer was "Yes". I didnt know the owners were testing us with this porch. It wasnt just an entrance but a "doorway" to my favorite reno. Here are some before and after photos of my work that were previously available on my now defunct website. This project remains the favorite project of my career.The best part was that this project was delivered out of craftsmanship and love not money.

Im happy to say you will see a lot of new activity on this page. Facebook reminds me more than necessary that I dont post much. Thats because Id rather put paint on than write about it. That said Im sad to say Ive ended my .com website. After 11 years I just dont need it here in Kelowna. Many of its features (like slide shows etc) are old technology. That said this Facebook venue is now my works sole presentation site.

Im spraying this carriage house. all of the sudden the floor guy is coming in and installing a finished floor before I start spraying the trims. No problem. Let er rip! Im used to labour disruptions when Im spraying...In this instance I took my dog Ringo to the job site...

After spraying and back-rolling the first finish coat on an entire house today by myself I was loading out my equipment, I realized I had severely inconvenienced the neighbor across the street. See video...

With the exterior season in full swing I dont want to forget a shout out to Jacqueline and Robert Conchie. working in their home was a pleasure from the beginning. My photography suffers from being around a professional so I dont have pix for here except these 2. One is Emerald. Theres no better paint. The other is Gus. there are so many adorable dogs at my projects they deserve some credit! Thank you Jackie & Robert for your hospitality!

The last project was a bit tricky. As well as routine column and post staining I engaged into a battle with a Glue Lam beam. In the end the beam lost. Maybe, in the future, I can help other painters with the fix but the detail on this one is extensive and a pictorial will have to wait! Wonderful project and the homeowners are inspiring. Here is a photo of the entrance I painted. It is stunning. Sherwin Williams stopped by my project and loved the colors. I loved the donuts and coffee they brought!

Next weeks project is an amazing carriage house currently under construction by Stonebridge Contemporary Construction. Its of exceptional quality and incredible use of small space design. I love that Stonebridge is eco friendly. Its ultra modern and its downtown .Cant wait to spray the whole thing with eco friendly paint from Sherwin Williams. (and backroll of course).

My current project is a call to spray a series of exterior new Masonite doors. the contractor is Donald Godon of "All Design Renovations" 250 215-3394. Next up for 2019 was "All Hands Under Decks!" The elevated undersides are visible from the pool deck and the suite and needed beautification and preservation as well as the tops. The coating is Sikkens SRD "Dark Oak".

Hi. So far its a great spring! No smoke and the weather has stabilized. At the opening of the exterior season things were shaky. Last year I broke in the exterior season with a mammoth Spray/backroll project. This year it was "1 toe in the pool" The Sandstone Community window touchups!
