My Brother, Masonry means more Than just to wear a pin, Or carrying a dues receipt So the Lodge will let you in.... You wear an emblem on your coat, And on your hand a ring. But, if you're not sincere at heart, This doesn't mean a thing. It's just an outward sign to show The world that you belong To this Fraternal Brotherhood That teaches right from wrong. What really counts lies buried deep Within the human breast; Masonic teaching brings it out And puts it to the test. If you can do outside the Lodge The things you learn within, Be just and upright to yourself And to your fellow men; Console a brother when he's sick, Or help him when in need. Without a thought of a reward For any act or deed; Conduct yourself in such a way The world without can see None but the best can meet the test Laid down by Masonry; Respect and live up to your trust And do the best you can; Then you can tell the world you are A Mason and a Man! .:.... A REAL MASON by Frank F. Baer .....:.

A Thanksgiving Prayer Oh, Lord, now this we’re thankful for: The good things life has held in store; The love of those within our home,... And friends to greet wherever we roam; The health and strength wherewith to toil, The bounteous food from freedom’s soil; We thank Thee for the right to pray And worship Thee in our own way; To live within a land that’s free; For this, dear Lord, our thanks to Thee; And through these blessings, one by one, May Thy will, Lord, on earth be done! Arthur R. Herrmann at the Masonic Poets Society.

THE OLD MASTER’S WAGES I MET A DEAR OLD MAN TODAY WHO WORE A MASONIC PIN.... IT WAS OLD AND FADED, LIKE THE MAN ITS EDGES WERE WORN QUITE THIN. I APPROACHED THE PARK BENCH WHERE HE SAT, TO GIVE THE OLD BROTHER HIS DO. I SAID, I SEE YOU’VE TRAVELED EAST HE SAID, I HAVE, HAVE YOU? I SAID, I HAVE, AND IN MY DAY BEFORE THE ALL SEEING SUN, I PLAYED IN THE RUBBLE WITH JUBALA, JUBALO AND JUBALUM. HE SHOUTED, DON’T LAUGH AT THE WORK MY SON IT’S GOOD AND SWEET AND TRUE. AND IF YOU’VE TRAVELED AS YOU SAID YOU SHOULD GIVE THESE THINGS THEIR DUE. THE WORD, THE SIGN, THE TOKEN, THE SWEET MASONIC PRAYER. THE VOW THAT ALL HAVE TAKEN WHO HAVE CLIMBED THE INNER STAIR. THE WAGES OF A MASON ARE NEVER PAID IN GOLD, BUT THE GAIN COMES FROM CONTENTMENT WHEN YOU’RE WEAK AND GROWING OLD. YOU SEE I’VE CARRIED MY OBLIGATIONS FOR ALMOST FIFTY YEARS, IT HAS HELPED ME THROUGH THE HARDSHIPS AND THE FAILURES FULL OF TEARS. NOW I’M LOSING MY MIND AND MY BODY DEATH IS NEAR, BUT I DON’T DESPAIR; I’VE LIVED MY LIFE UPON THE LEVEL, AND I’M DYING ON THE SQUARE. SOMETIMES, THE GREATEST LESSONS ARE THOSE THAT ARE LEARNED ANEW, AND THE OLD MAN IN THE PARK TODAY HAS CHANGED MY POINT OF VIEW. TO ALL MASONIC BROTHERS; THE ONLY SECRET IS TO CARE. MAY YOU LIVE UPON THE LEVEL. MAY YOU PART UPON THE SQUARE.

Brethren, this came to me in a master's corner and I thought I'd share it with you cuz how many of us don't know the history? Brethren, I want to take this moment to wish you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving, and I sincerely hope you are all well. Thanksgiving in Canada has become a time for family gatherings, surrounding a robust seasonal dinner, to celebrate the end of a productive year and to enjoy ourselves before winter inevitably takes hold. I did some resear...Continue reading

My Brothers, I saw this poem and immediately thought it was quite appropriate for our jurisdiction as well as the author's. Patience Brother, patience.... Written for all those Brethren who are feeling lost and lonely without Lodge meetings, as well as not being able to see many of their Brothers. Stay strong and be patient... Patience Brother, patience... It seems as if just yesterday, We met Level, Plumb and Square, Within our sacred temple walls, As Brothers true and fair, The mallet's strike - Once! Twice! Thrice! Not heard for so long now, Our aprons, long have not been worn, Yet unsullied, as we vowed, Those Rituals kept close to our hearts, With our work covered, day and night, The time will come, this battle won, When we as Brethren, reunite, So practice all you've learned and taught, To either stranger, Brother, friend, The Craft shall shine forever more... ...and in time we'll meet again. Another Masonic thought of the day... It may be said that Candidates of Freemasonry search for a deeper meaning to life, yearn for a bond that goes beyond the senseless shallow modern-day lifestyles, and for a true understanding of the Self. The words of Brother Victor Hugo over 200 years ago still hold a timeless truth, There is one thing stronger than all the armies in the world, and that is an idea whose time has come.
