One of our rescue mamma cats was just about to wean off her 3 kittens when we recieved a request to take in 8 tiny kittens that had been rejected by their mamma. She happily accepted them. Yesterday I found that one of them had fallen down to the bottom of their enclosure and had obviously been there for a few hours. I thought the kitten was dead actually. It’s body was cold and stiff but then I noticed just the slightest movement. I immediately started warming him up with my... own body heat then warmed up some bean bags in the microwave. It worked! He slowly started to become more and more responsive. He would’ve have made it if I put him back in with his litter mates so I made up some kitten formula and he started to feed So over 24 hours later, he is still alive and doing well. Our Shepherd Rango should have been a female, lol. He is such a nurturer. If it’s a sheep or a pup or a tiny little kitten that needs help, he is always willing to look after them. And Sophie seems to be learning from Rango’s ways as well. See more

Barn kitten available for adoption. This friendly little guy is neutered, microchipped and has had his first set of vaccines. Reason for being placed as a barn cat is because he will not regularly use a litter box. (yes he has been vetted to rule out a medical issue, multiple litter boxes, different types of litter etc) Unfortunately there just aren’t a lot of alternatives for him as there are not many people out there that are willing to have a cat that will use their couch,... bed etc as a bathroom. Totally understandable. Having said that..... **A barn home by our standards does not mean a cat that has to stay alive by eating mice, eating snow to stay hydrated and finding a hay bale to hide in to stay warm in sub zero temperature. They should always have a good sheltered area to go into, a regular supply of cat food, fresh water and regular deworming. Jelly’s adoption fee is $80. Just enough to cover his vet costs. This gorgeous boy is only days away from being euthanized. He was picked up by animal control in Houston and his owners do not want to pay the fines and do not want to get him back. We are still full at our rescue and can’t take him. He is neutered and 2-3 years old. Unfortunately he doesn’t get along with other dogs so would need to be in a single dog home. Brodie is still available for adoption. He is a two year old mixed breed. Would make an excellent running or hiking companion. He has a ton of energy and is eager to please. Great with children.
