Status Quo? I think not, inflation is coming or is it? These are interesting times for The Bank of Canada. The Overnight Rate will remain as is for the next 2-3 years, inflation could get ugly or will it? Uncertainty is paramount!

Bank of Canada once again lowers The Overnight Rate by .50%. The Rate now stands at .25%. I'm assuming that Institutions will follow suit and lower Prime. More to come!

It looks like Ottawa has opened their eyes to the reality of our economy, the Virus aside. I don't want to be political, however, I have never seen such a lack of leadership in this country as we have over the last few year, from The PMO to across the street at The Bank of Canada. Rates will continue to fall as the leadership of Canada flounders. IMO

The engine is losing momentum. I must admit that Governor Poloz has some fantastic phrases when describing our economy. But really what has he done for Canada since taking over for Mark Carney. IMO nothing other than listen to The Prime Minister's Office, so much for autonomy at The Bank of Canada. Yes we are in a holding pattern, for now!

Last month no change, Poloz is leaving and January 22 we get the Interest rate announcement and Monetary Policy Report.
