MEET OUR VETS! Dr. Veronica Gventsadze will be joining our team from November 5-14. Dr Veronica Gventsadze worked as a conference interpreter and a university professor of philosophy before making a U-turn in her career to become a veterinarian. On the next day after graduating from Ontario Veterinary College in 2008 she set off on a cross-country drive to BC and her first job. For the past ten years she has worked as a locum, with a special interest in feline and rabbit medicine. In her free time she loves writing fiction as well as articles for veterinary journals.

Dear Pet Owners, We cannot believe how 2020 has turned out we hope this letter finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. We continue to be extremely busy at the hospital. While it means a lot that our community can rely on us during these times, it has made for exhausting, and sometimes overwhelming, days and nights. We are fully committed to our patients and clients prioritizing day-to-day as urgent cases arise. We are continually re-evaluating our schedule to en...sure that no sick pets are left to wait. The majority of our clients have shown incredible patience with our team, and we cannot thank you enough for the outpouring of support we have received. Unfortunately, we have been running into some situations where people’s frustrations have got the better of them and that frustration has been taken out directly on our team members. These problematic situations are taking their toll. We are, first and foremost, a hospital. We must abide by stringent rules imposed on us by our veterinary governing body in order to keep our doors open. It is a responsibility and a requirement that we do not take lightly we are a medical facility with a license to practice, we are not permitted to make exceptions to these rules. As a community, we are in this together. Our team members do their best to give people the benefit of the doubt, but we would love for that to work both ways. Our intentions are always positive. We get up every morning (and sometimes in the middle of the night!) to take care of people and their pets. We will not tolerate inappropriate behaviour of any kind we must stay focused on following the rules imposed on us and making the best decisions for your pet to have the most favourable outcome. We wanted to thank you in advance for your patience and your kindness. We cannot do our work to the best of our ability without amazing clients. We look forward to a time when life is a little more normal, but in the meantime, we are grateful to be your veterinary facility. Sincerely, Your Team at Pacific Coast Veterinary Hospital
