On any job, you’re bound to make mistakes. But if you plan well, your mistakes will be small, controllable and easily repairable. For example, we came back today to clean and prepare to grout, and discovered one of our dry tiles (a tile you put in place to determine your layout before you apply mortar) had been overlooked and not mortared down with the rest. Not good, but not major. We can set the tile in place and grout it after we finish the rest of the floor. And better to catch it now, than not catch it and have that tile crack later!
Ready for grout! I can’t wait to post before and after pics. The homeowner today said it looks like a different house. That’s the goal. If you loved what it was, you wouldn’t want to change it. This space is going to be spectacular
Phew! Getting there!
The angle at which I took this picture may not make it seem like a lot, but each full tile is just over 30 in length, so this is actually the greater portion of the kitchen area done. A lot of time prepping the floor and making everything perfect makes this part go a million times smoother! Tomorrow, we just come in and continue laying tile. Sunday we grout. We’re very happy with how it’s coming along
Schluter fitted! Mixing mortar.
