Happy New Year to one and all. Stay tuned to our page as we have a meeting coming up with a new coach that would like to run our club. If anyone is interested in helping with set up, take down of equipment and cleaning after classes, please contact Janice at: [email protected] We will put you on our list and will be in touch once we know what the outcome of the meeting is. We are excited about getting our club back up and running. Thank you to all past members and the Community for hanging in there during our closure.

Hoping everyone is staying safe with this virus that is out. The 2 moms that were interested in becoming coaches are unable to attend the course in Kimberly. I have a feeling that it will be cancelled anyway. Will inform everyone when we hear of new dates. Again if anyone else is interested in becoming a coach please let me know and I will forward details as I receive updates.

Procter GYmnastic is still in need of a coach. We have one mom who is interested in going through for one, but we could do with some one that already has their certification until she is able to get hers. Is there anyone out there interested if so contact Janice at: [email protected]

To all the gymnasts, parents, grandparents and supporters of Procter Gymnastics and Trampoline Club: THANK YOU for such a tremendous send off of flowers, cakes, drawings, cards, hugs, photos, party and most of all - the memories! It has been amazing to see how each and EVERY gymnast (even those I coached for only a short time) grew, grew up and progressed. Of course I'm biased towards a sport I've been involved with - one way or another - for over 45 years (yup, it has bee...n a lifetime), but I've always believed gymnastics is bigger than it may appear. In addition to the obvious fitness and healthy lifestyle benefits, children also build personal skills such as self expression and confidence, courage, discipline, problem solving, as well as performance and social skills through the opportunities gymnastics presents. And because of all this neat stuff, I hope the athletes continue to find a way to pursue gymnastics and trampoline-ing. Some of the parents have connected with me through your personal facebook pages, so please feel free to post/send your gymnastics updates - I'll enjoy viewing your lives from afar. It's been an honor and a pleasure to have met the families involved with the club. I've enjoyed your company and conversations, learned from your children (yes, "old dogs" learn new tricks) and truly had a bunch of fun in your little gym. And there is NO way I could have done any of it without Janice (who created something truly AMAZING for your community and had the guts to stick with it all these years), Lloyd - a very busy worker/family man/artist/community member (aka: rockstar!) - who made time to set up the space in new and creative ways each week (sometimes single-handedly or when sick or injured) and Shelley, Fee and Tara - also busy parents who's commitment to planning parties and keeping registration, class lists (and thus, me) organized extended to sessions when their children were not registered. And a finally, two VERY BIG hugs of special appreciation to Jen and Lucca Dehnel. It was Jen's idea to bring private lessons to your club and she assisted me almost every Sunday with closing up the gym (the un-glamorous side of things - flushing toilets, picking up garbage and lost/found, turning off lights/heat and locking up). And MULTIPLE high fives to Lucca because I can't say enough: she was an enthusiastic demonstrator with peers, she coached the younger kids (so funny to hear her repeat my "phrases") in a caring and helpful manner, she challenged me to create/find new drills and ways of setting up the equipment for her continuously advancing skills (the Dena & Lucca hour!) and she became my friend - someone who blossomed into an accomplished gymnast and a funny fun person. She is a positive role model for your community and I sincerely hope Lucca will be able to continue coaching training and eventually become the head-coach at Procter Gymnastics Club! It's been a fabulous journey with you all - THANKS EVERYONE!!

Last class was so awesome, except that it was also our last day for our coach, Dena. She will be sadly missed. We are in the process of looking for a new part-time coach. email [email protected] if you have the qualifications for this position.
