There are many benefits to using dust control measures when doing masonry repairs. - reduces flying dust - safer for workers/passerby - cuts down on clean-up... - keeps the neighbors happy Always insist that your Contractor takes every possible step to control the dust before you hire them! #professionalmasonryservices

We don't just do repairs, we also do new construction! Just finished this front #stone facade using #arriscraft There is something very satisfying about laying every stone on someone's dream home, making sure it's absolutely perfect.

Used some @banasstones to wrap the ugly concrete bases of the posts to give the patio a finished look. #flagstone #ProfessionalMasonryServices

Why they allowed the Builder to use #bricks to cap a wall holding a Balcony Railing is bewildering. History has proven the sitting snow's meltwater and daily freeze/thaw cycles crumbles these bricks quite quickly, leaving no structural strength to resist pressure from people leaning on the railing. #Brickrestoration simply would repeat the cycle so instead we put a solid #concrete cap with a dripedge in place. Permanent weatherability and protection for the wall below, and co...nsiderably more structural strength for the railing. It even matches the stone accents used over the doorways. What the Builder should have done to begin with!

I'm happy to announce the winner of our planter auction is Karen Hirst. Her donation of $250 to the Scarborough Food Security Initiative will go a long way to help @FeedScarborough This auction has been a lot of fun, thank you to everyone who took part. It was also very rewarding, and has proved that our community is ready to help when people are in need.... One of the most outstanding moments occurred behind the scenes when the runner up, Cynthia Doull, messaged me and said she would be donating her bid of $225 regardless if she won the planter or not. Her generosity is truly outstanding. I will be thanking her personally the best way that I know; I'm making her a planter too! Altogether, those two donations, along with my pledge to match winning amounts over $100, adds up to a total of $950 for the Scarborough Food Security Initiative But that's not all!!! Back when the bidding was at $100 I told my partner Cristina that I hoped the bidding would reach $250, and she told me that if it did, she would donate $250 to the SFSI too. A huge thank you goes out to her for making this auction exceed my expectations. I really enjoyed witnessing one person's generosity inspire another's. That brings us up to a grand total of $1200 raised!!! I'm very grateful there are so many caring people in our community who are helping out at this difficult time Not just the donors, but also the dedicated SFSI volunteers, who are working hard to take the phone calls, organize the delivery routes and receive, pack, and distribute the food. This money helps them to continue, and lets them know we are standing right behind them and appreciate their efforts. We should all be thankful that when most of the regular food banks were shutting their doors for protection from Covid-19, the SFSI stepped right up to keep people fed, and give them hope. Between their current activities and their future plans, they are truly the ones providing concrete solutions to food insecurity in our community. Donations and volunteers are accepted and additional information is available anytime on their website www.feedscarborough.com

We are so glad to be back to work!!! But there are still many who aren't, and we want to do what we can to help. We are auctioning off a solid brick planter, with all proceeds going to the Scarborough Food Security Initiative. ... Very similar to the planter in the picture, but the Winning bidder will be able to pick their own brick, and create a planter that matches your house or condo or existing landscape. Heavy duty protection for your prized plant! (Weighs about 100Kg) Please post your bid in the comments below, and let's work together to feed the local families who need our help! Private message your bid if you want to remain anonymous. * as a bonus, you will also receive a charitable tax receipt for your donation *
