Despite the challenges brought by 2020, your dedication and perseverance have helped our team remain strong and devoted to ensuring a safe, clean facility for our members to enjoy. As we approach the holidays, we wanted to share with you that we will be closed for the holidays from Dec 24th to Jan 3rd. ... This was not an easy decision, however, given the unprecedented times, we wanted to ensure that our staff had the opportunity to spend time safely with their loved ones. We will also be taking this time to complete a repair on some of the equipment and execute a deep cleaning of the facility. Hi Pro-Fit Fam! First, we want to thank you ALL for your regular diligence on following our current safety measures. We have kept a close eye on the gym floor and everyone has truly stepped up to help us attain great success with members returning and ensuring everyone can get their workout in safely. Words cannot express our appreciation for your assistance in this matter. This further proves our confidence in knowing that we truly have the best members around! To ensu...re we are doing our part, we have been monitoring what other facilities have been doing to keep members safe and the facilities' doors open. Because of this, we will be implementing THREE new policies effective at midnight tonight. 1. Face masks are mandatory in all spaces including the gym floor. You will be required to wear your mask when transitioning from one piece of equipment to another. Once you have reached your chosen piece of equipment, you can lower your mask to perform your exercise. 2. To maintain social distancing, please remain 3 meters from any other members working out on the gym floor. 3. If you are looking to purchase a gym membership or day pass/ten day pass, you must live within Haldimand-Norfolk or Six Nations. You will be required to provide proof of address. If you cannot provide this, you will be issued a refund immediately. Thank you for your understanding and let's crush our goals this week

As we are slowly introducing our services back into the facility within guidelines, we are happy to announce our classes are starting back up as of Monday, October 5th.Although we have set this date, we are monitoring the second wave of Covid-19 to ensure everyone's safety so we may have to adjust this date or cancel classes going forward as we receive new information. We will continue to update you with the most up to date information so please keep an eye out! We will b...e offering our Spinning, Tabata, Yoga & Yoga Stretch classes with our Instructors Sara, Bonnie, Jenna, and Char. Tabata, Yoga Stretch and all other Yoga classes will be in the Aerobics room. Spinning will take place in our Pro-Studio room. This is to ensure we have the correct spacing for social distancing. You are required to book in for a class ahead of time using our MindBody booking system. No Walk Ins will be accepted. You will have to wear a mask entering the facility to your class and exiting your class/facility, not during your workout. If you're participating in Yoga, we ask you to bring your own personal Yoga mat. You will have your own personal spray bottle at the top of the stairs before entering the class. We ask you to sanitize your equipment before and after use to make sure everyone's safety is priority. *ALL members who would like to re-activate their membership to attend classes, please e-mail [email protected]. *Once your membership is active, you are able to book online through Pro-Fit's very own MindBody website.You can begin booking for classes as soon as your membership is active. CHECK OUT OUR CLEANING PROCEDURES On behalf of our staff, we would like to inform you on what exactly our procedures are to keeping our facility as clean as possible for everyone's safety. Our floor staff cleans the floor on a regular basis as well as all members using the facility doing their diligence.... We also have a night crew come in every night to make sure the place is spotless upon your arrival the following day. We have sanitizers located all throughout the building as well as your own personal spray bottle to pick up when you first walk out on the gym floor. We hope you all feel just as safe and comfortable as we do in the facility. We can only do so much and with your help it has been a huge success! We finally have some exciting news! We are opening! Thank you all again for being so patience with us during this time. As we begin the process of re-opening our facility there is a few things we need your help with! ... Our staff will begin unsuspending all memberships. That being said, you will be getting a charge to your method of payment on file. If you DO NOT want your membership unsuspended at this time, please refrain from messaging through social media, we ask you to please email [email protected] and Jill will be happy to help you. Booking your workout cannot happen until your membership is unsuspended. Please be patient with us! And last but not least, we will need everyone to sign a liability waiver online before entering our facility. PRO-FIT FAM, You recently received an email regarding the new policy requiring all members to have a method of payment on their profile. Whether you pay for the year, pay for the month, pay day to day, you will still have to have this on file. Why?... We have time slots set-up for 5 people to book every 15 minutes. This will ensure members are staggering coming into our facility to keep everyone as safe as possible and there will be more than enough time slots for members to get their workout in You have 75 mins to complete your workout and will be able to book 7 days in advance. Please cancel within 12 hours of your time slot if needed for no charge. We ask you to please come no earlier than 5 mins before and no later than 10 mins after your time slot or you will be charged a late fee and forced to rebook. If you have a legitimate reason for not showing up for your appointment or have to cancel, we will be happy to help you do so. If for any reason you’re abusing these policies and procedures we will be charging $25 using your method of payment on file. If you continue to abuse them we will have to terminate your membership. Once we have updated our website, there will be clear instructions on how to book your workout online. Not comfortable with online? You can also call our front desk staff at 905-765-1210 and they will get you booked in! *we do not have a date yet for re-opening as of July 17/2020*

Hey Pro-Fit Fam, Maddie here Does being out of your normal routine have you feeling all kinds of uneasiness? Strong Mind = Strong Body ... During this time, above all else, it is SO helpful to incorporate a few techniques to practice mindfulness in your day to day. This is because we are in a period of uncertainty and with uncertainty comes lots of worry and concerns. Everyone worries from time to time. That’s totally normal! However, when someone excessively worries, it oftentimes interferes with ones ability to function and cope. Some examples of excessive or unproductive worrying include: worries are hard to turn off or control, it generates no clear course of action, your thoughts are rarely free of worrying and you often experience symptoms such as irritability, difficulty concentrating, muscle tension and sleep disturbance, among others. Here are 5 tips that you can try: EATING HABITS : what you put into your body is such a major component on how you are left feeling both inside and outside. You can do what works best for you, some choose to count macros, while others do not. If I am not counting macros, I try to really follow that 80/20 rule (80% natural, wholesome foods and then 20% of the sweets because balance is important) CLEAN SPACE : we have all of this extra time in our day without our daily commute so reserve a day for yourself and make your space your own. Simple organization can go such a long way OBSERVE YOUR BREATHING : if you notice that you are feeling overwhelmed and are struggling to regulate your breathing, try practicing the box breathing method. Count down 4,3,2,1 breath in, count down 4,3,2,1 breath out over and over. This is where meditation comes in handy as well. SURF YOUR CRAVINGS : it can often become a slippery slope when we let worry take over. We find ourselves instinctively reaching for that glass/bottle of wine, or grabbing the bag of chips without even any conscious thought of doing so. A neat technique to try is expand the space between your awareness of the urge and your response. Let the urge or craving be there, and try staying with the discomfort that comes with that. Rather than moving to get rid of the discomfort, acknowledge the certainty that the discomfort will soon pass on its own. SIMPLY BE : whether it’s showering, washing dishes, cooking, reading, talking on the phone with a loved one... notice the sensations in that moment and be fully present. We are so accustomed to routine. This is why there is no better time to practice these methods THAN NOW. You may think, I tried it once, meditation didn’t work for me. I challenge you to try again. And perhaps one other time too. It takes time just as anything else to become comfortable with but, once you do, it’ll have you feeling confident with your ability to handle your worry and concern. Take that 5 minutes a day, show up for yourself and be amazed at what you can achieve. Hope this helps

Hey Pro-Fit, it’s Jill here lets talk a little bit more about N.E.A.T and why’s it’s important to move your body N.E.A.T stands for Non-Exercise-Activity-Thermogenesis and is the energy expended for everything we do that is not sleeping, eating or sports-like exercise for example walking... yard work vacuuming grocery shopping playing with your kids stand instead of sit take the stairs instead create challenges Those are just a few of many things you can do in the other 23 hours around your workout to help increase your daily step intake. Sitting and being inactive for long periods of time can cause more issues then just weight gain. Metabolic syndrome, poor blood sugar management and type 2 diabetes can be all found in large amounts of sit time The great news about this though, as you start to incorporate N.E.A.T more into your daily routine you will see benefits occur rapidly without having to participate in an intense training program From this info, it sounds like the more N.E.A.T we do the less cardio we have to do and I’m all game for that! Who really enjoys doing cardio anyways? .... Now, I challenge you to focus on incorporating 10,000 steps minimum into your daily routine
