You could say this set up was more than half the battle!
Helping out our clients with their plans for a slight change in layout on their upper floor!
This was an abatement we completed for our clients in West Vancouver. We removed asbestos containing drywall as requested to accommodate structural upgrades and open concept vibes!
Accurate results depend on proper sampling - this is more important than ever when testing for asbestos. When sampling sprayed insulation or blown-in insulation that is less than 90 metres squared, collect a minimum of 3 samples of each type of material. Between 90 and 450 metres squared, collect at least 5. Any area of insulation greater than 450 metres squared requires the collection of at least 7 samples. The minimum recommended quantity per sample is 50 centimetres squared. These figures are the same as if you were sampling any surfacing materials, and should be strictly adhered to.
Removing the chimney! The job was easier said than done, but we made it happen!
Working on a skylight!
A commercial project in Vancouver that we've recently started!

Work with a view! On the job in Squamish.
Before After! One of our clients in Squamish has beautiful hardwood floors and they are NOT part of the renovation... so we did some extra prep work!
Vinyl sheet flooring that contains asbestos is an extreme safety hazard. Samples must be safely taken in order to determine whether or not asbestos is present, and if so, how much asbestos there is. Regardless of the size of flooring material, collect a minimum of one sample per flooring type in each room. One sample must also be collected from each layer of flooring, as well. Each sample should be at least 5 centimetres squared.
We are strongly behind the environmental and safety bylaws the Metro Vancouver area has instituted. Each job, we ensure that materials are removed safely and disposed of responsibly for the environment. That's the Progressive Way.
Day one set-up at a job in North Vancouver.
A high-risk asbestos abatement project we completed in Kitsilano. Our client had asbestos-containing drywall joint compound throughout their condo, as well as asbestos-containing vinyl sheet flooring throughout their home. We removed the drywall ceiling, insulation, and vinyl sheet flooring using High Risk Work Procedures: Three stage decontamination unit with shower On-site DOP Testing for all Hepa equipment Daily air monitoring and air clearance... We waited to receive our air clearance results to confirm that our hazardous material concentrations were above and beyond whats considered a pass. After completing the high-risk tasks, we safely removed the containment and bags of asbestos-containing materials.
When sampling for asbestos, it's important to consider the type and size of material. When sampling surfacing materials that are less than 90 metres squared, collect a minimum of 3 samples of each type of material. Between 90 and 450 metres squared, collect at least 5. Any area of surfacing material greater than 450 metres squared requires the collection of at least 7 samples. For drywall mud, sample the mud only - do not include the drywall or tape.
AFTER! When it comes to Asbestos removal, we have built up the expertise to complete all jobs quickly, efficiently, and safely. Come and take a walk through our job site.
BEFORE... Set-up is everything! Stay tuned for what comes next.
Old ceiling tiles that contain asbestos are a significant safety hazard to you and anyone else in the building. When sampling ceiling tiles that are less than 90 metres squared, collect a minimum of 3 samples of each type of material. Between 90 and 450 metres squared, collect at least 5. Areas of ceiling tile that are greater than 450 metres squared require the collection of at least 7 samples. Abiding by recommended sampling guidelines will preserve the integrity of your testing and produce more accurate results.
Who knew that "clean" and "demo" could be found in the same sentence?
Finishing up the job out in Langley. During this project, we had to remove the mezzanine and managed to salvage a few beams for a fellow contractor in the process.
Heading out to a project site in Langley.
If Monday was a floor... We hope everyone's week is off to a great start!
Setting up for a full home abatement in Maple Ridge.
Checking out the neighbourhood after locating and fixing the pool leak.
There's nothing like a sneaky pool leak to dampen the mood. This was an interesting project that involved a facelift and some exploratory demo to locate the source of the leak. We exposed a pipe that had a small hole and cleared enough room for the trusty plumber to make the repair. Team work makes the dream work!
This project was at a brand new Vancouver condo in the heart of the city. We got creative and did a selective demo to allow for some unique modifications.
Teamwork makes the dream work, and the sun helps too
Today we hit the floor hard, sacked, packed and ready to roll
Happy Canada Day, from our team to yours!
We hit this job pretty hard and the results are in, we destroyed it.
Knocking down walls and taking names When you're dealing with drywall from 1990 and onwards, if you separate it from the plater you can actually recycle it. Keeping things green where possible is super important to our business, it also creates cost savings for our clients too. WIN - WIN
Having the opportunity to be outside and mix things up a little is always welcome, especially after months of Netflix We removed this underground storage tank for @langaracollege before disposing of it safely.
Things you see here... clean demo opportunity Things you don't see... Ventilation to ensure air circulation... PPE which the teams wear when not outside in open air Sanitization of equipment We care not only about our client's health and safety but our teams too. We've got you and us covered
After what feels like nothing short of a lifetime, the Progressive crew is back in action! We are so stoked to be back and look forward to connecting with everyone again!
Hi Friends, How have you been managing during all the craziness in the world? We feel quite fortunate as our industry requires that we wear proper PPE despite #COVID. If you need us, we are still working and taking proper precautions - sanitization, social distancing, and wearing protective gear. Stay safe out there, we're here if you need us.
