Progressive Landscapes 06.11.2020

Recently completed backyard project; 200+ yards of landscape aggregates. 13 pallets of pavers. 9 pallets of blocks and caps. 1100 lbs of jointing sand. A case of PL Premium. Hundreds of travel mugs of coffee. A 40th birthday and a pretty sore back. This is probably the most satisfied I've been with an end result. The clients took care of the plants, they'll fill in over time. I did the rest. They'll be seeding the perimeter in the fall with grass.

Patio from the past few weeks. The after pics were taken yesterday before the jointing sand going in and beds getting mulched. Today’s lighting was terrible with the full sun and tall trees. So these will have to do. #landscaping #hardscaping #patios #outdoorliving #nanaimo #toleratewhatyoudo

Wrapped up my part of this job today. Built some cedar timber planters. And some walkways. Forgot to get before pictures, but it was a lawn slopping towards the house. The clients will be planting out the beds themselves. The irrigation is roughed in but will be completed after planting. The staircase is temporary and being dealt with by another company.

Some before and afters of a slate patio I started just before the back to back to back snowstorms in February. I finished it a few weeks ago, but it's been too sunny to get some decent pictures until today. This was the final job I did with the assistance of the great Jonathan Ripley. He was my sales rep from one of my suppliers since nearly day one of Progressive Landscapes. He is definitely on to bigger and better things, and my local rock shop won't be the same place without him. He always went above and beyond to help me. #landscaping #hardscaping #patios #pergola #arbour #slate #getinyouryard

Working on some quotes tonight. One potential job in particular reminded me of this job we did a few years ago. Just watched the video for the first time since a couple years at least. This was easily the most satisfying job I was ever involved in. Made a friend out of it with the client as well. 5 Star Media Group is responsible for the great video work.

Some photos of a recent job. Made this unused space more interesting. The owners decided to hold off on the planting of the garden until they had a better feel for the new layout. That suits me well as I don’t really like dealing with the plantings anyhow. #landscaping #hardscaping #retainingwall #useablespace #outdoorrenovation

Another job from late last year. I have been really slack on posting the projects. The before was taken at a much nicer time of year than the November installation was.

Front step replacement from a few weeks ago. Handrail yet to be installed is TBD

Probably the hardest job to get a decent picture of afterwards. Long a slim. Photography nightmare particularly with a phone. Replaced the old steps and made an unused space useable. We built some planters along the edge of the existing concrete retaining wall and made the entry to the backyard a little more interesting. In the early stages of this job it was starting to look like we were building some mountain bike jumps. Almost brought the bike one day.

Some stone work from the past few weeks. A large patio and a couple of different planters. Off for the holidays now. Lots of interesting projects in the New Year. Happy Holidays everyone!
