Just when you think the universe if against you, when the cards are stacked NOT in your favour this happens: always have faith, I needed this so badly and I cannot express in words how touched and grateful I am....what amazing day...your amazing day is just around the corner...trust me it is

Not many couples can make it to 50 years. My parents have been through the loss of their first child, my mom’s battle with depression, moving to a new country from Italy, my eating disorder battles, the ups and downs of raising a family, my mom’s cancer battle and now enjoying their two grandchildren. Through it all they really have stuck by in sickness and in health, they have done it all with love, gratitude, generosity and dedication to their marriage and this family. I have amazing role models in my parents, they have shown me that your partner is your best friend and through struggles you get stronger together. Happy 50th Mom and Dad wishing you 50 more years of happiness, health and expanding love.

I do not even know what to say about this, I know as Sydney’s mom I am the least objective person but this dance makes me want to cry. Here is my baby girl, unrehearsed, free, improvised, courageous, raw and true. Such a beautiful display of letting go, being you, not a thought of being judged. This was a completely spontaneous performance, unprompted, so grateful Clinton captured it on video. I encourage everyone to try to experience a small piece of that sense of confidant abandon, to flow with the music and feel what you feel, let emotion move you. Sydney mommy loves you and is sending this video in to the So You Think You Can Dance 2035 Auditions!!!!

Unedited, raw, as it, I hesitated briefly sharing this but have come to realize that there is such strength in our moments of vulnerability. I take pride in my thick skin, no pain, no cry, hit me harder I can take it attitude, my crying is to be kept behind closed doors, I joke that I do not have tears. But here in Taylor’s thank you birthday speech it all comes out, no script, no cuts, no retakes...here it is...take a look and know that being open, real, visable and true is not weak, it is strength in its purest form. I much rather deadlift 190 lbs, bench 120lbs, push a sled but that is easy that is not a true measure of who I am inside, what I feel, what I keep in the back stage. I hope this encourages anyone watching this to remove the mask and be real, do not worry about judgement, just be YOU.

I took last week to listen, read, learn, step back and reflect. Often times I feel like we say we are listening but we are simply waiting for the time to interupt and start talking. I am a talker but I wanted to observe and take in, critically analyze all that is happening around us. I took the time to question my actions as a lawyer (am I doing right by my clients, am I speaking up for them, am I ensuring they get their day in court with the full benefit of the law); as a mo...ther am I encouraging my children to be inclusive, loving, to accept everyone as their friend no matter their race, ethnicity, age, sexuality and ability; as a teacher am I speaking with truth, encouraging action and community. So I am back and ready to take more action, stand for more justice and hopefully connect with my community. So here is a clip of some of the things happening for me last week that perhaps you can connect with, draw from. Stay strong, stand tall, take a stand if you can. See more
