As per the recent announcement from the Government of Alberta, all hockey activities for Grande Prairie Minor Hockey will be on a 2-week temporary shutdown effe...ctive midnight tonight November 12 and will resume November 28. We will provide more information as it becomes available. ALL games and practices scheduled for tonight will proceed as planned. See more

Update to Spectator Policy 1. Evaluation skates moving forward in the U18, U15, U13 age groups will still have the policy of only players, coaches, volunteers i...n the building. 2. Evaluation skates in the U11 groups will allow one parent per player to come in the building to tie skates to help the player prepare for the ice session and then exit the building directly after the player is ready for the ice session. The existing policy during the ice session will remain in effect of only players, coaches and volunteers in the building during the ice session. It is recommended ( not mandatory) that spectators wear a mask while in the arena . 3. There will be no evaluation skates for the U9 and U7 age groups. These age groups will be split into cohorts ahead of the season start and go directly into weekly play. We will need 3 COVID Liaison volunteers named per Cohort Group. Once we have these volunteers in place, there will be spectators permitted in the viewing areas for all ice times. The number of spectators will be limited to the permitted number of spectators that each facility allows. It will be up to the COVID Liaisons to monitor this for each group. For the opening weekend of play the commissioners will act as the covid liaisons. It is recommended ( not mandatory) that spectators wear a mask while in the arena . *** Note any spectators found breaking the social distance policy of the facility will be asked to leave the facility immediately. *** 4. Once cohorts are formed in any age group after the evaluation process and there are 2 COVID Liaison volunteers named per Cohort Group and those Liaisons have the required training through GPMHA office, there will be spectators permitted in the viewing areas for all ice times. The number of spectators will be limited to the permitted number of spectators that each facility allows. It will be up to the COVID Liaisons to monitor this for each group.
