PROstudios PROstuds- Client Spotlight Peter and I first met in 2009. He was just starting high school and I was completing one of my final stages in Athletic Therapy. He came in for chronic bilateral Achilles tendonitis. Growing almost half a foot in one summer exacerbated his symptoms but together we were able to treat and correct his imbalances. I truly believe this is when Peter started falling in love with training. He was always a very athletic guy, soccer, rugby, tenn...is, track, canoeing, you name it, Peter has done it but this was the moment he understood the benefits of strength and conditioning and how it can make him excel as an athlete. Fast forward a few years, Peter shattered his clavicle playing Ruby. The fracture was pretty severe resulting in surgery with a plate and few screws inserted. Rehab wasn’t easy and at times very gruelling. Regaining full shoulder range of motion took several months and building strength took even longer but Peter prevailed and he did it with style! Peter used his rehabilitation as a spring board to get bigger, stronger and faster. That was his mentality moving forward and he never looked back. He put on a solid 30 pounds of muscle once the rehabilitation process was done! As time progressed, Peter decided to put all his time and energy training for track and field, specifically the 100m, 200m and 400m events. He quickly learned the importance of periodization and how it would allow him to go from being a good sprinter to becoming an elite sprinter and running against some of the very best in the nation! Like every sport, there are always injuries and track is no different. Two hamstring tears, left and right, both grade 2 in nature over a course of 2 years really tested Peters character as an athlete. I’ve never seen somebody want something so bad. The term eat, sleep train repeat perfectly describes what Peter did during this time. Rehab for both hamstrings were tough and annoying to say the least but together, with the foundation we built over the years, Peter was back on the track bigger, stronger and faster than when he left! Love yah Pete - bigger, stronger, faster, you’re my PROstud See more

I admire Susan more than words can describe. Her health accomplishments always leave me in awe! She is the true definition of a warrior & for that reason she is my PROstud! We have been working together for 10yrs & Susan has never backed down from any challenge! As a single mom, working full-time, her health was never a priority. All that changed one morning when Susan and I first met. On this day Susan told me: Things need to change, I need to improve my health. I want to ...run a half marathon, do spin classes, do deadlifts, squats & push ups & do chin-ups! Not only did Susan radically change her life, she accomplished all those goals while improving her health & in the process dropped 25% body fat, lost 40lbs of fat & gained 20lbs of muscle. There were some minor hiccups throughout her journey; shoulder dislocation, fractured metatarsals, ankle sprains, sacro-iliac joint dysfunction, meniscus tear & chronic patellafemoral syndrome but nothing that some treatments & rehab could not fix! I say minor because Susan was diagnosed with a slow progressing kidney disease that severely impacted her energy. She was doing dialysis for over a year until she was able to get a transplant. Her sister gave her a new life by selflessly donating her kidney. Following the transplant, things were going well until she was diagnosed with stage 4 anal cancer. Doctors told her that the situation was dire; her cancer had metastasised to her liver. She had to undergo extensive chemotherapy, localised radiation & had to have a liver resection. Doctors never seemed too optimistic but like the true superhero she is, Susan never gave up, she battled every single day! All fairy-tales have happy endings & so does this one! Susan completely beat her cancer & went into remission. Susan has a clean bill of health! To this day, Susan is always telling me how she is so grateful for all the support, guidance, motivation & education I have given her over the years but I should be the one thanking her for the tremendous courage & the intense drive she has bestowed on myself & all my colleagues all these years! You’re my role model Susan & you’re an absolutely amazing human being! You’re the best
