Good morning everyone. This week is groceries and recycling, we sure look forward to seeing you all! Recycling, household garbage and Thrifty’s run is operated ...every second Wednesday by Will’s barge (PI Supply). The next run is this coming Wednesday, shop at Thriftys on Tuesday. Please have your recycling/household garbage out no later than 12 noon. we can also do pick ups from London drugs and or the liquor store. Recycling dates and info are posted on all PI notice boards. For self-recyclers, the bins are back in the marina parking lot. PI Supply phone 250-751-4877. Call for more info or special requests. [email protected] Please go to Regional Recycling’s excellent website to review what you can and cannot recycle. Everything must be CLEAN, food waste smells and creates mold! List of how to sort at the end of this email. https://www.regionalrecycling.ca/nanaimo-recycling-depot/ GARBAGE: Please MARK YOUR GARBAGE to distinguish it from recycling. Even better, put your recycling in clear bags and your light household garbage in black bags (labelled ‘Garbage’). PAYMENT: Attach money to bag: $5 per bag; $10 per TV or computer element; $15 per hot water heater; $30 per appliance (+$15 fee for freezer, fridge or anything with freeon). Any drop fees for garbage items may be billed later. The barge picks up from THRIFTYS Port Place on Recycle Wednesdays. Shop and pay in person at Thrifty's on Tuesday, tell cashier it’s for PI. Your order will be kept in cooler until barge picks up and delivers on Wednesday, $4 per bin, delivery time will vary, for updates check the PI Supply FB page https://www.facebook.com/Island-Supply-168974570424839/. If you are a first time user of Thrifty’s pick up or a B&B guest be sure to put your address and phone on at least one of the bags, no matter what Thrifty’s staff tells you.
