Shame on Bernadette Jordan! How could DFO totally neglect their responsibility to protect wild salmon and biodiversity and cater to a polluting industry that is on it's way out in many parts of the world.

BREAKING! DFO has just announced fish farms won't be removed from the Discovery Islands as recommended by the Cohen Commission. They claim fish farms pose minimal risk to migrating wild salmon, yet numerous studies show fish farms can infect wild salmon with dangerous diseases and parasitic lice. (DFO did not even consider lice infection in their risk assessments despite mounting evidence that it’s a serious problem!) DFO is a textbook example of a government agency captured see more below

There is no question that this is a concerning situation. The Department (DFA) failed to respond to the applicant and continues to be in violation of the law months after the decision was due.... When access to information laws are st...rong and effective, citizens benefit, and our democracy thrives.
