Remote Learning at Providence is in full swing! Some students in grade one read a short story called Fruit Salad and were given the option to make fruit salad at home. Here are two pictures from Stephanie and Carter. The Grade 1 students also watched The Julie Brown Show the other day for math starring Julie Brown (aka Mrs. Vos) and Shape Man. The Christmas season is now officially upon us and we can enjoy our bazaar treasures as we celebrate Christ’s birth. The bazaar team would like to extend our gratitude to this amazing PCS community. Everyone pulled together to create a new bazaar experience in raising an amazing $50 000. Our community has so many different gifts that were used to facilitate this smooth transition to online. This week is Bully Awareness and Prevention Week! Each class will have the opportunity to participate in activities that promote inclusion and belonging. God's deep desire is for us to love one another (1 John 4:11) and sometimes we don't do that exceptionally well. In response to this, each class will have the opportunity to talk about bullying, what it is and isn't and how to be a caring inclusive community.

Winter means more layers as well as mittens , scarfs and hats ! These items can easily be misplaced or lost. Don't forget to check out the lost and found bin in front of the office for that missing mitten!

The sun shone , the music played and we WALKED, RAN, SKIPPED, and LIMBOed our way around 2 tracks. Things are looking a bit different this year as we try to organize our school fundraisers. But one program that hasn't changed is FundScrip! Our theme at school this year is "In His Hands". We know that PCS and our school year is in His almighty hands. Isaiah 41:10 - "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you: I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

The countdown is on! Even though school will look different this year, we are so excited to see everyone in just a few days! We have been preparing for this year in so many ways, including improvements to our outdoor learning areas.

So very thankful that my grade 7 students were able to deliver their published biographies to the residents of Village Manor Retirement Home last week! Our celebration looked very different this year - our visits were in small groups of 2, they were through a window, and there were no hugs- but the residents were so grateful for the gift of their life stories being honoured in such a meaningful way, especially during these difficult, lonely times. ~ Mrs. Carla Alblas #crownsofglory #providencecs
