Of course we were watching! Great start to the week. We are confidant this mornings game will only be a roadbump along the way at the end of a great week. Keep working those rocks, lots of positives to take away from that game.

We are in need of two heavy duty shipping pallets. If anyone in the community can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

New Liskeard Gordon Brock Brad Jacobs of Sault Ste. Marie won a record 10th Northern Ontario Men’s Curling championship Sunday afternoon at the Don Shepherdson Memorial Arena in New Liskeard. He defeated the Mike-Badiuk-skipped rink representing the Geraldton Curling Club by a score of 7-3 in a game that concluded after 8 ends. The other members of Jacobs’ team include: Vice Marc Kennedy, Second E.J. Harnden and Lead Ryan Harnden. The coach is Rick Lang. Jacobs had a curlin...g week that was close to perfection as possible, entertaining on a morning and evening basis the large crowds that were in attendance throughout the week. Here are just a few examples of the Jacobs’ team’s dominance: His average score in seven round-robin and one playoff game was 8-3. Not one of his games went the regulation 10 ends. Only two games even went to a ninth end. Two games ended after six ends. Another two games ended after seven ends. The remaining two games ended after eight ends. At no time in any game throughout the week did he trail. The opposition never scored more than two points in an end and that only happened three times. The opposition never stole an end. The Jacobs rink entered the week ranked as Number One on the World Tour. During the post-game ceremonies, Vice Kennedy told the crowd that the New Liskeard ice was one of the better ice that the team has played on this curling season. Jacobs’ victory was his sixth Northern Ontario championship in a row and his tenth overall. He shared the all-time record with Al Hackner. Team Jacobs will now advance to the Canadian championships, the Tim Hortons Brier, to be held in Kingston February 29 to March 8.
