Despite having some of the strongest protocols in place to trace and restrict the spread of Covid. Our facilities are being targeted for stronger restrictions! We have not one single case of Covid recorded in any of our studios province wide! We urge you to sign our petition calling on Kenney and his administration, to stop the haphazard approach to beating this virus. Ease restrictions on facilities that actually contribute to the health and well being of the population. M...ost Gyms, Martial arts studios, Dance studios and fitness facilities in general, are all well disciplined. Your mental and physical well being is important Sign up now and let these people know! Maai, or distance, is a fundamental tenet of Shotokan Karate. I don't think anyone would argue that all of these pictures showcase the proper maai during training.
Since restrictions began approximately mid November, CSKA has been running online training sessions 5 times per week for a total of 7 training sessions. These ...sessions are split into various skill levels and are completely free! If you have ever contemplated training Karate or simply want some exercise then these are the sessions for you. Yesterday was the last day of training for 2020, which we all know has been one hell of a year! We have had to shut-down the dojo twice and even move location o...nce. But, if this year has taught us anything it’s that no matter what we will continue training! I want to thank everyone for supporting the dojo this year through so much transition. I look forward to continue training with you all and the exciting opportunities that 2021 will bring. See more

Hi All, CSKA Zoom classes start tonight and run per the attached schedule replacing our regular Sunday classes until the restriction is lifted and we are back at the Tri-Leisure Centre. To register, request access to the CSKA 2020 Messenger group from me and then look for the attached message and link for the online registration form. Simple as that ... suggest taking in a couple of sessions per week. This is a great way to keep training, keep connected and experience some of the CSKA’s talented instructors !
To all PSKA Members - please see your email inbox for details on registration for CSKA Online Sessions for the next two weeks !
Please stay tuned for an announcement from the CSKA regarding online Zoom lessons to replace our suspended training sessions soon.

Now available on Amazon in e-reader and paperback formats, Interesting, informative and straight-forward guidance from John Hanratty Sensei who has over 50 years experience practicing and teaching what is recognized as among the best of Shotokan Karate. While this handbook is supplementary material to the CSKA’s 22-Module Instructors Course, it is equally valuable to any Shotokan practitioner as a reference source. It’s not meant to sit on a shelf; read it, highlight it, throw it in your karate bag - keep it close. Highly recommended...
