INTEGRATED REGULATION Integrated regulation is a form of motivation that arises when a person has fully integrated a motivation within themselves. Their behavior is influenced by integrated regulation when they undergoe self-examination and then internalize and assimilate the reasons behind an action. An example of integrated regulation as motivation would be a person who attends running club because they believe that the act aligns with their personal belief systems, even if they do not attend for the sheer enjoyment of it. They don't feel guilty or shame because that's what they have to do. It is the right thing for them to do

IDENTIFIED REGULATION If a person has personally identified with the importance of a behavior and accepted it as a regulation of their own because it benefits them in achieving a goal, they are motivated by identified regulation. With this form of motivation, the individual doesn't have to find enjoyment in the behavior, and there doesn't have to be an immediate reward. The person also isn't motivated by guilt or shame: they simply recognizes that a behavior is beneficial toward her development and adopts that behavior as her own. For example, doing a training session you don't want to do but knowing you have to do it to get to where you want to be

NEVER GIVE UP. Everyone fails, but it's the effective use of affirmations depends on how much you believe in them. Believing in yourself has meaning. When you believe what you say & do, you will create it. I will be hitting 200kg (440lbs), but it's not going to be soon, there is no rush. I'll do it, it's just a case of when

End of this long block! (09/06/20-8/09/20) 4 months Squat 415 (188kg)x1 (+45kg ETM) Deadlift 500 (225kg)x1 (+25kg ETM) Bench 220 (100kg)x7 (+7kg ETM) BUT stopped 2 weeks short of last block due to Injury to left shoulder. ... Also missed 440lbs (200kg) squat. Maybe could have gotten 430 by keeping it conservative. Time to deload, take a week off for my birthday. Come back for a month and do some stability work. Then get back into an off season programme

EXTERNAL REGULATION This motivation is exclusively external and regulated by compliance, conformity, and external rewards and punishments. This is the worst type of motivation and is very easy to quit from this. It's a good motivator to start but after a few weeks, people tend to quit. ... You only do it to get something out of it

PATIENCE I try and practice patience alot when it comes to my life (in every aspect). It's very hard to stay on a consistent path and doubt yourself. The past few weeks I haven't been feeling myself, doubts, negative self talk etc. I've been mindful of it happening and keep doing my regular routine of self development, gym and meditation. ... Yesterday, was a very significant day for me for many reasons, 1. The Self doubt in my own abilities as a coach is BS. My self programming is working. 2. The sheer joy of pulling a weight I've wanted to pull for years (I set a goal 2 years ago to hit a 200Kg Squat (I hope on Tuesday), 110kg bench () & 225 deadlift (). Only one more to hit. Yes it has taken longer than expected but regardless I'm about to finally do it. 3. The process is a long and winding road but keeping at it will eventually pay off through patience. 4. Keeping patient in other aspects of life are now needed, especially my career. By keeping everything in perspective and being patient will aid everyone. It could be 2,4,6,10 years down the line. But by staying patient and working hard. You will find results. Stick with it For online coaching visit www.psychelite.ca

Self-Determination Theory, or SDT, links personality, human motivation, and optimal functioning. It posits that there are two main types of motivationintrinsic and extrinsicand that both are powerful forces in shaping who we are and how we behave (Deci & Ryan, 2008). There are 3 main issues human need to tackle when it comes to becoming motivated. Autonomy is defined as the feeling that the action carried out has its origin in oneself, without any kind of external pressure.... Competence is the perception of the individual’s effectiveness in performing any type of action in a particular context. Relatedness refers to the feeling one has of belonging to a particular social group. These psychological needs tend to combine with each other, so that one influences the others; in this way, if one increases, the others will as well. Deci & Ryan state that at least 1 of the 3 need to be satisfied at the start to contribute to the long term effects of health.

Considerable attention has been paid to the use of pre-workout supplements purported to enhance exercise performance. The results of this study indicate that acute ingestion of the commercially available pre-workout dietary supplement can significantly improve both anaerobic peak power and mean power in recreationally trained males. The ingestion of the pre-workout dietary supplement and the resulting significant increases in anaerobic power observed in this study came with no adverse side effects. In contrast, the pre-workout supplement did not improve upper body power, lower body power, or maximal bench press strength. Given the scarcity of research on pre-workout supplements, more research is warranted to gain a better understanding of their effects on anaerobic modes of exercise. (Martinez et Al., 2016)
