Psychology Professor Meghan McMurtry participated on the WHO panel that drafted guidelines for management of chronic pain in children. The guidelines will be used to assist WHO member states and their partners in developing and implementing national and local policies, regulations, pain management protocols and best practices.

Psychology Professor Stephen Lewis has helped to develop the first-ever research-informed, consensus-based guideline for responsible reporting and depiction of non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI). The guidelines offer six recommendations along with tips for social media platforms including rules and response guidelines for users in hopes of working to combat stigma and misunderstanding while instilling hope and communicating that recovery is possible.

Drawing on expertise from across the university, the cours...e is structured around a series of webinar panels and seminar discussions. Topics to be explored include pandemics in history, COVID-19 and ethics, COVID-19 and technology, knowledge, misinformation and discourse around pandemics, and the implications of COVID-19 on institutions, work, food, community, resilience.
