The winner of the T-shirt logo competition is.....Mariana Venâncio! Here is the beautiful meaning behind the design: Checking the T-shirt designs from previous years I noticed that the bear, the trees and the salmon and always present, and a previous animator explained me what their meaning was for PSYL - so of course I decided to keep them all.... The bear is easy to recognized - is the paw. It’s a paw for the reason that it leaves it’s mark in the participants. There are 4 trees in the design. They’re represented as 4 different trees trunks cut so that you can see their rings. The rings represent the trees growth (the participants growth and development through the camp); This year PSYL 21st edition (there are 21 rings, and each tree ring symbolizes one year); The meditation circles I have been told about; The sense of community and closeness; Nature as it is usually represented with circles for an idea of perfection and balance; The idea of a cycle - the cycle of the balance of ecosystems (metaphorically and literally)- the bear goes to the river to catch the salmon, which sustains its live and so gives back and contributes for the development of the forest. The salmon is, in fact, the 4 trees grouped (or the inside of the paw).

DO YOU WANT TO DESIGN THE PSYL T-SHIRT LOGO 2019? Are you coming? Have you been? What will 2019 T-shirt look like? Only you can help us decide! This is a CALLOUT for any folks affiliated with the PSYL community (past participants, current participants, guest coordinators, volunteers, etc.) interested in art and/or design! Do you have an idea/image that represents PSYL? What pops into your head when you think of PSYL?... PSYL IS CALLING OUT TO YOU TO SUBMIT YOUR LOGOS (to print on this year's PSYL 2019 T-Shirts!) Make sure your design meets the following criteria: -designs must be one colour, no gradients -they should be saved as a .pdf file -no larger than 10 inches wide by 12 inches high SEND THEM IN to [email protected] by MAY 31, midnight PST! Once all the designs have been submitted we will invite a vote on our favourite on social media between May 31 to June 6! *Some things to keep in mind while designing: - simple designs often work best as they are easiest to transfer to a T-shirt - think about the message you want to sent to PSYL participants, as well as, to all the people that will see the T-shirt Happy creating!
