Toes ‘n’ Taps is open again! And they’re selling super cute masks. I have it on good authority that they’re quite comfy
Dance is healing. I went back to the studio last night to experience the new normal. Moving my body in a big space felt amazing and the space at Dance Victoria was so well organized (and colourful!) Thank you Amalia and Vic Dance Collab for the beautiful and safe in person class! . . . .... #yyjarts #yyjdance See more
Canada’s chief medical officer, Dr Theresa Tam, is now recommending non-medical masks when out in public. This especially includes going to your Physio appointments as we’ll likely be within 2m of each other! Do you know how to wear a mask correctly? 1) Wash your hands before AND after putting on your mask as it’s hard to avoid touching your face while doing this. Make sure your mask is secure because....... 2) ...once it’s on, DON’T TOUCH IT! This is the most common mistake I see people making. Touching your face while wearing the mask increases your risk of infection. Touching the outside of the mask itself also contaminates your hand because droplets accumulate on the outside of the material. It’s the same as touching your face!! (Or picking your nose, or licking your finger...) 3) Take off your mask carefully, avoid touching the outside of the mask, and dispose of it immediately: in the garbage for disposable masks or into the laundry for reusable masks. Don’t wave it around or crumple it up! This CBC video is a great resource! https://www.facebook.com/5823419603/posts/10158695162374604/?vh=e
OOTD! Today was my first day back in the clinic seeing patients face to face! I’m back in my trusty scrubs and I’m working closely with my old friends the Caviwipes to keep things disinfected . I’ll be working a reduced schedule to adhere to BC’s Phase 2 Restart Plan. This means I’m in the clinic seeing patients in person and virtually 3 days/week and at home doing virtual telehealth 2 days/week. . . . .... . I just picked up some ballet slippers that I ordered last month from Toes 'n' Taps Dance Shoppe. They’re doing curb side pickup if you need items for your online dance classes! If you don’t need anything now, but anticipate needing something when studios re-open, you can buy a virtual gift card now and use it in the future. These wonderful ladies have been in my life since I started dancing at age 3 and gave me my first job at 16! I’m proud to be a #TNTalum and happy to be able to support a local business through a tough time
Happy International Dance Day! It feels a bit different than most given the current situation. Dance has always brought me joy, even in stressful times. Case in point: preparing for @royalacademyofdance exams 18 years ago! This was a mock exam that I found on a real, live VHS! Enjoy baby Alex
What a human. Check out my friend and fellow Physio, Jess, as she creates a bouldering route at home. Amazing!
Starting on Monday, March 30th I will be offering telehealth appointments! In these sessions I can progress exercise programs and discuss ongoing self-management. Please note: online booking is not available. Call @shelbournephysioclinic to book: 250-598-9828
Great blog post to read as you take dance classes from home!
