City of Peterborough release regarding free downtown parking... "Beginning Friday, November 27, 2020, shoppers can enjoy free two-hour holiday parking at all downtown municipal parking spaces. The promotion is sponsored by HotSpot Parking for the third year in a row. ... From November 27 to December 31, parking fees that are voluntarily paid at pay-and-display machines, parking meters or via the HotSpot App during the free two-hour period will be donated to Kawartha Food Share. To encourage steady turn-over of on-street parking spots and convenient access to shops and restaurants, on-street parking downtown is a maximum of two hours. Drivers cannot pay to park longer. Those who need more time are asked to park in the City’s surface lots or parking garages. Last year, people who voluntarily paid to park during the free two-hour holiday parking period in December contributed $15,552 that was donated to Kawartha Food Share."
