Summer finds you searching out bonfires, cookouts and family reunions in need of your warbling. Winter sees you caterwauling with the local bands in small bars and coffee shops. For a lot of people walking into a kitchen to prepare a meal is like getting dropped blindfolded in the middle of a forest, at night, with the sounds of wolves to replace your favourite cooking playlist. As you frantically try to find your way out, smashing into trees, falling over rocks and every prickly bush reaching out to congratulate you on your progress, you hope it’s only a few more steps to safety. Then once you reach safety you realize you have no clue as to where yo...u are. But you stop. Take a pic and hope for the best. The worst part is you have people coming to visit in 20 minutes and all they’re bringing is hunger and anticipation. Recipes seem to lie, the oven is acting like an air conditioner and the food is in a state of half wishing it had been left in the back of the fridge and half waiting to be overcooked.
