Join us in supporting local small business #loyal2localchallenge! Public Service Credit Union is very excited to be participating in the #loyal2localchallenge, joining a collective effort by credit unions across the Atlantic region to create a wave of support for our local community by empowering employees to give back to our communities. During this pandemic, many small businesses have been impacted with loss of revenue and additional costs and we all know that local busines...ses make significant contribution to our local economy. As a local business, credit unions can relate to these challenges, we were created by communities and the #loyal2localchallenge aligns well with credit unions’ guiding principles and values. Each employee is provided with $50 to purchase a product, service or gift card from locally-owned businesses or a donation to a charity between June 15th and June 28th. Funding is sponsored by each local credit union and our credit union partners, Atlantic Central, League Savings & Mortgage and League Data. Employees are also being asked to share their stories on social media, tagging the business or charity in order to heighten the exposure via social media. Help kick start the economy by availing of the Provincial Government Construction Rebate Program, 25% up to $10,0000. Check with PSCU on how we can assist you. https://www.pscu.ca//You/PersonalLoans/HomeRenovationLoan/ PSCU can approve your loan and you can apply for the rebate from the Government of NL, Construction Rebate Program!... A 25% rebate is available for renovation projects for principal residences, up to a maximum rebate of $10,000 (based on a $40,000 project). A rebate of $10,000 is available for new home construction on homes valued up to $350,000 before HST. The rebate will apply to work on a primary residence contracted within a 60-day period from the start of COVID-19 Alert Level 3, and the project must be substantially complete by March 31, 2021. To qualify, homeowners must use an eligible contractor, which includes those who have general liability insurance and are registered (i.e., HST registered, valid Business Number or Workers Compensation registered). Members can apply for rebate to The Department of Finance which will begin accepting applications for the Residential Construction Rebate Program beginning on June 8, 2020. Applications will be available on the Department of Finance website (https://www.gov.nl.ca/fin/forms/) and through the Canadian Home Builders Association Newfoundland and Labrador (http://www.chbanl.ca/) in the coming days.
