Camp P.U.L.S.E. 2019 recently concluded this past Sunday and we're looking back on some of our most favourite memories! At Camp P.U.L.S.E. Canadian youth and students from around the world can develop their leadership skills while critically analyzing various social justice issues related to the past and present. Come and have a look at where our participants stay during their first week in Canada and their experiences both inside and outside the classroom! Video credits: Louis Au
Camp PULSE is unique in a sense that local Canadian students can participate as peer mentors to the international campers. Here is what our peer mentor 2018 has to say about this experience. Thanks, Enoch!

Campers were out and bound to experience different cultures and life in Toronto. Campers were divided into three groups and trekked from the university of Toronto to various parts of downtown; Kensington Market, Korea Town, Lawrence Market, Union Station and CN Tower.
After a week of intense lessons & nature retreat, campers were off to explore the capital city of Canada for the weekend. They visited the parliament hill, Canadian Museum of History, Rideau Canal and ByWard Market. Of course, the Northern light show and fireworks at night was the highlight of the trip.
We had a very active group of campers this year. Campers participated in various outdoor activities in the afternoon; games, handball, soccer, basketball, beach volleyball, kayaking, biking and swimming. We even added a few impromptu games from a Korean hit variety show called 'Running Man'. Despite of all different level of their athleticism, no one was excluded in these activities. They worked so well as a team. A Kudo to Lawrence and Winnie in learning how to bike for the first time. A great coaching and support from their peers and supervisors!
The 1st week of Camp PULSE was taken place in a retreat centre, Beaverton Ontario where campers enjoyed abundant green spaces and clear skies. One of the memorable moments during the nature retreat was when we counted the stars as we all lay down beside the camp fire.
Even the simple games can teach you profound life lessons! A couple of quotes from the campers; "unlike other learning tours, the lessons here try to really let us think deeply about each issues and facilitate our social communication skills."; "I miss the lessons we took in Fair Haven. I learned a lot and lessons made me consider more "

Special thanks to our Camp P.U.L.S.E. participants for all their hard work during ALPHA's Peace Fest! Peace Fest is a community event created to garner awareness for the history of WWII in Asia and to celebrate the common pursuit of justice and peace. Campers had a fun (and hilarious) time organizing the Bikes & Blenders Booth where locals had to take up the challenge to ride a bike to power their smoothies! All proceeds went to support ALPHA's work and educational initiatives. What an amazing way to spend the day by giving back to our community!

Brace yourself for a not-so-ordinary city tour! Students experience Toronto life by participating in P.U.L.S.E.’s Grand City Adventure. The Grand City Adventure connects international students with a larger multicultural network, allowing them to learn about new cultures and experiences of the Toronto community. Split into small teams with the guidance of peer mentors and university interns, students explore some of Toronto’s most diverse cultural neighbourhoods where they may have to sample a new type of food, ask a city local about an attraction’s historical significance, take a picture in a funky costume, and other fun activities!
