Can’t wait to see bridal parties this close together again!
Vibes in the distillery district.
Today requires a little dance. Why? Simply put, and in the words of Biden, it’s a new day in America. A new chapter. A new path. And the icing, Kamala Harris becomes the first female Vice President of the United States!
Let’s talk books! One of my new years resolutions is to read more. I’m encouraging myself to read at least 10 pages a day. This may seem small to some, but to me it’s a pretty daunting amount. Tell me; what are your favourite books, books you’re currently reading, underrated books, books you’re eyeing, etc. (you get the point)
Is it too early for wine? To everyone participating in a dry January, sorry for posting this
LOVE is all you need. A little throwback to last week! Steven & Daria chose to walk into 2021 a married couple, eloping downtown Toronto with the rain blessing their vows and their 2 closest friends as witnesses. If covid couldn’t stop them, nothing will.
Those ‘just married’ vibes.
The days in 2020 I didn’t wear sweatpants could probably be counted on 10 fingers , this was one of them. Who else is excited to see how fashion trends develop in 2021? . @alix.gould
Lockdown part 2 feels different, right? While there is still a level of uncertainty, there is resilience. We have been here. We now have first hand experience of knowing we can pivot, we can adapt and we can, ultimately, get through this. While business as usual may look a little different right now, what are you doing to fill the voids of your usual daily routine that is, otherwise, on hold at the moment? I’ll start. I was recently (literally yesterday) given the opportuni...ty to join Clubhouse While I’m a total newb to this app, I can already acknowledge it’s benefits. The community over competition mindset on Clubhouse is enormously strong and photographers around the world are coming together to have raw & authentic conversations within this audio app. I’m excited to take the time, I would normally be on the field shooting, to learn from like minded professionals within my industry. It is finally time to close out this year. Cheers to that, am I right!? 2020 has presented itself with its fair share of challenges. While we may have all experienced similar obstacles, each circumstance was unique to every one of us. We showed up for ourselves in the way we persevered, in the way we accepted change, and in the ways we pivoted. We showed up for others in the way we came together to support our local communities, in the way we lent our hands and hearts to ...help one another adapt, and in the way we showed so much more kindness. We all faced difficulty; some days were horribly hard while some days were better than others. Through it all, we managed and we can now gracefully, and cautiously, walk into 2021. It goes without saying that this pandemic rocked the wedding industry in ways no one could have ever imagined, but love was never paused. To my clients who chose to postpone, I am so excited to celebrate with you soon. And to my clients who didn’t let covid-19 stand in their way, I thank you! Your days looked different than originally visioned, but you adjusted. You scraped plans, minimized guest lists and you chose parks, wineries and backyards as your new event spaces. Your weddings were, sincerely, some of the most intimate, magical and heartwarming events I have ever experienced. While this year I’ve, personally, had tear filled days spent in bed and days where I’ve felt like my business was failing and days where I had no hope... I have mostly had days counting my blessings. I am incredibly lucky to do what I do and have the opportunity to work with such amazing people. So, heres to you! My wedding clients, my portrait clients and my corporate clients - thank you, thank you, thank you.
I love introducing clients to new places. I met these 2 and their kids at Milton Town Hall, and showed them around the grounds & Victoria Park. They had never been and had no idea about it. The very next week, I was shooting another session at the same location and guess who I bumped into in the parking lot!
A quick update, in case you missed it! Images from the Timeless Imagery Workshop with Alix Gould are live, on the blog! Check out here (https://pureaperture.ca/workshop-timeless-imagery/) leave a comment to let me know what you think!
Happy Halloween Whatever you choose to do today, keep safe! I wanted to hop on here real quick to post about a last minute opening, at 4:05pm, for this Sundays holiday minis. These sessions are otherwise sold out and we would love to fill this spot. Grab it before it’s too late! www.squarecowork.bigcartel.com/products
Rewind to when the pandemic resulted in almost all weddings in 2020 to be postponed and a fellow wedding photographer seeing an opportunity, and taking that sudden extra time to pursue a dream of hers, to host her own workshop I’m pretty stoked to be blogging the images I captured at @alix.gould’s Timeless Imagery Workshop later this afternoon Also, I think it’s worth noting here that Alix has been hinting at hosting another workshop this winter, so be sure to follow her page if you’re interested in more information about that!
Been down a bit of an editing hole over here. Hey! Yep. Just coming up for a little bit of air. I’m excited to share a lot of what I’ve been lucky enough to be working on this month!!
