June 19 Part 2 Hello my berry lovers, I hope you had a berry great weekend. After a day off from harvesting, (but not processing) we are hoping to be back at it... tomorrow. To give the guys a chance to get into the orchards, we won’t be opening for fresh sales until 10:00 am. We will be open until about 4. The long days are taking its toll on us slightly older workers. U-pick: thank you for your patience. We are looking at opening, possibly on Tuesday evening. As long as we are processing, the days aren’t an option. The dirt road has to be possible. July 15 I am going to keep things simple as people are missing important information and I am fielding a lot of questions that are answered in the post. *We onl...y accept cash or cheques.. we have no credit card or debit machine. *We are open tomorrow from 9-5 for fresh sales in our Warren processing plant. *5 pound pail = $22; 7.5 pound box = $32; 15 pound box = $62. *Please check the map for how to get to the shed. *I am going to attempt to accept orders. We usually keep a good supply of all containers on hand. However, we understand that some of you like the security of knowing that what you want is available. I would ask that you only send an order if: you are limited because of time, are coming from a distance, or want a larger order. Text or email me. Please don’t phone me. July 14 Hello my berry lovers, First of all the U-pick is closed until further notice. Thanks to everyone who came out to buy fresh berries today. It was a bit... tense at times because the berries we put in coolers to process this morning, were not quite up to the quality we like for our customers. So we had a real nail biter going to process enough berries for the customers who arrived after 2. Thank you for your patience if you had to wait. Everyone got their berries, even one of our favourite customers, Hazel, who each year comes and picks up a huge order for all her neighbours.. 18 boxes in all! She wins our customer of the week! What a thoughtful and fun lady! Please please, share this with friends. Scroll down and check out the map and box sizes. I do NOT take orders unless you are like Hazel and have a huge order. Or like Valerie who drives from Neepawa for our berries. We normally keep a good supply of all boxes and buckets. At the moment our coolers are full so come on down tomorrow which is Wednesday. Hello My Saskatoon Berry Lovers, Today was an epic day in the U-Pick Orchard. We had more people than ever before picking. Thank you to everyone who came out an...d enjoyed the peace and quiet. The bugs weren’t too bad (though we still have mosquitoes and some flies) and the berries are plentiful. There are still lots just hanging and ready for a fast picking. We are open tomorrow morning for possibly the last day before the mechanical picker cleans most of the ripe berries. There will probably be a second pick, but this one is always the easiest. We might do a pick on Monday evening but there is some rain in the forecast which will close the road. So for those of you new to this, a quick way to the orchard is to google Rutherford Farms and then once you get there, look to the right and you will see the Upick sign. Come carefully down the dirt road, across the ditch and to the arrow, turn left and follow the bush to the orchard. My number is 204-467-8672. Please text me if you want help finding us.
