The Creative Tween class worked on some homemade squishees last night. Admittedly , I haven't a clue what a squishee is but these girls have figured out that if they make puffy paint and cover sponges in it they have homemade squishees. What is happening here? Self directed art play! Once in a while artists will find their way to a spontaneous mixing, scooping, blending activity as a way to explore the creative space.... This one started with a Kleenex and paint water. They added glitter and glue and stirred it up, they even used a little of the mixture to paint on paper.
