May 1st has always been one of my favourite days of the year. Our newsletter goes out, the schedule goes up, we start selling summer passes and ramp up our prep for opening day. It’s usually filled with excitement - a sure sign that it won’t be long until we’re all reunited in our happy place. . I knew this year would be different with our little baby arriving, but - as I’m sure all of you reading can relate - I never could’ve imagined just how ‘different’ it would be. I don’...t have any updates or info to share - just like you and the rest of the world, I’m waiting to hear more. But in the meantime, it’s May 1st and I wanted you to know I’m thinking of you all. I hope you’re safe and well, you’re moving and breathing and you’re doing your best to accept the things you can’t control and remembering to focus your energy on the things that you can. . With the frustration of accepting that my plan to have everything organized by now isn’t possible the year I’m having a baby, I’m also overwhelmed with the deepest appreciation. For this special space we call our yoga home in the summer that now seems even more magical. For all of you in our community that have reached out, practiced online and offered words of encouragement and support. For the incredible team of women who give so much to our community every summer and despite not knowing when/if they’ll be working and what it will look like, have told me over and over again, don’t worry - we’ve got this. I am so grateful for all of you @victoriahunt1 @jaimeenns @omgirlcanada @julie.m.barnes @kristendeew @christiechapman . I’ve always known I’m lucky to do what I do in a special place surrounded by such incredible people. I’m feeling that even more these days. Sending all of our boathouse love to you, to our affiliate studios in the city and to all the other small businesses out there that have made the tough but honourable call to temporarily close their doors. While this doesn’t directly impact our summer studio which is closed right now, I know many/most of you are hunkered down at home and doing your part to flatten the curve. If movement is as important for your mental health as it is to mine, you’re probably wondering how to ...keep up your practice. . As of today @poweryogacanada is offering FREE LIVE STREAMING classes from morning to night, everyday of the week. Follow them on FB and IG and flow with so many of my favourite teachers. Class times: 6am, 9:30am, 12pm, 4:30pm, 6pm and 8:30pm. I’ll be teaching Wednesday 9:30am and Friday 12pm. Tune in! . Starting Wednesday March 18th we will be starting the 30 Days to Level Up program that entails daily emails, meditation, journal questions, food inquiry and daily live dial in group sessions. Surprise! We’re open Thanksgiving for two classes. Crosby said the boathouse is way too special and we have to open ONE more time. Curtains are down and we’re halfway packed up but come on out, work off some turkey, hear some good tunes and get some bear hugs. We love you guys! .
