We noticed that not all trees are the same colour green so we mixed different colours. We chose animals from the Rocky Mountains. We chose bright and funky colours so they would pop out. ... We believe that it is important to respect all living things from the tiniest mosquito to the largest trees in the forest.

Ms. Aspevig’s grade 6/7 class from Windermere Elementary was inspired by thinking of East Kootenay animals! Using colours, shapes and different types of media for texture, the class collaborated to create this fun, bold artwork!

#artfromtheheart PART 15 2020 @pynelogs #invermerebc Mrs. Shrek/Mr. LeBourdais’ grade 4/5 class from JA Laird brought together all kinds of patterns and colours to create this fun moose and wolf piece! They did half the canvas in warm colours and half the canvas in cool colours!

#artfromtheheart PART 15 2020 @pynelogs #invermerebc Ms. Green’s 4/5 class from JA Laird wanted to raise awareness for animals that are going extinct. They chose to focus on the caribou and the whole class helped out to create this amazing crocheted version!
