Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is one of the most commonly used psychotherapeutic approaches for treating mental health problems. CBT helps you to identify, challenge and overcome your dysfunctional thoughts, behavior and emotions. Studies show that online cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is just as effective as traditional face-to-face therapy. The process is based on CBT and provides you with the information, tools and guidance that you need to overcome your problem...s, with the help of myself. Message me to find out how to get full access to my online therapy program, which is divided into 8 sections. Each section includes all the information and hands-on tools that you need to identify, challenge and overcome your problems. Your subscription also includes daily contact with myself (Monday-Friday), your daily journal and activity plan, yoga & meditation videos and tests to see your progress. #CBT #cognitivebehaviortherapy #onlinetherapy #cheaperthaninperson #anxiety #depression #psychotherapy #psychotherapist #RP #restoringfreedom #handsontools

Ever wonder about the meaning of your dreams? Dreams function to regulate and process our emotions! We often dream of our waking-life emotional experiences and concerns. Our memories are processed in the dream stage of sleep for better storage and integration with our previous memories. Focusing on the emotions in your dreams can give you information on what is happening at a deeper level. This can include realizations of where items of dream content came from in waking life..., and of metaphorical references to particular concerns, issues or events that may not have been easily seen or understood during waking hours. Keeping a dream diary can help in seeing themes and understanding the meaning of your dreams! #dreammeaning #remsleep #sleephealthtips #insomia #dreamtherapy #restoringfreedom #registeredpsychotherapist #registeredpsychotherapy #rp

I love doing puzzles and I got this one for Mother's Day. In many ways, I find puzzles are a reflection of the work in therapy! The beginning is somewhat boring with sorting and finding the edge pieces. Its important though to know what each piece looks like and even begin to find similar themes or colours. This step helps me know where is the easiest place to begin!... Then I begin to put the pieces together to create a picture. Some sections come together easily but others are hard! It takes time to keep trying and seeing how the pieces fit. Just like therapy it can seem slow and like there is not much progress. However, there is joy in starting to see the picture come forward If it is too easy and no struggle, the completion is not as rewarding! In therapy, you are actually doing the hard work! I am there to help you know what are corner or edge pieces. Also, I can help you know when the pieces fit together even if you don't realize it! Stick with your puzzle! You will be amazed at the end result and the picture that emerges! #psychotherapy #puzzles #findingfreedom #lifepuzzles #puttingittogether #takestime #patienceisprogress #joyinthejourney #psychotherapist

Research has shown that singing in a group appears to have a significant effect on mood, and can help recovery from anxiety and depression! Singing helps tame stress and also lifts the spirit! I get it as I weekly sing with the Durham Shout Sister Choir! Our awesome conductor, @zotzabby challenges and encourages us to bring out our best! ... It is a natural antidepressant as it releases endorphins associated with feelings of pleasure and the release of oxytocin, a hormone that is found to alleviate anxiety and stress. Its not just about the making of music, but also from the socializing that occurs when people get together regularly to sing. #newadventures #livinghope #shoutsisterchoir #singasong #anxiety #depression #stress #compassionfatigue #choirtherapy See more

Exercise is an important part of mental health for its proven ability to help with depression and anxiety. In my opinion, the best exercise is to go for a walk in nature! On my walk this morning, I enjoyed looking at the trees and seeing the light filter through the leaves. I could hear the birds singing, my feet crunching leaves on the path and the sound of running water over the rocks. I could smell pine, damp leaves and earth. The sun felt warm on my skin and there wa...s coolness in the breeze. This is being mindful and in the moment! It is self care and gratitude. The Enneagram is a tool that I use with many of my clients who are looking to learn more about who they are and what motivates them. . I personally prefer iEQ9 to determine a person's type because it is statistically valid and reliable. Many tests have low validity which can cause many challenges, as they are more open to self-reporting biases and as a result, to mistyping clients. . If you are a research geek like me, you may enjoy reading about the accuracy and reliability that can be found with this test. If you just want to learn what Type you are on the Enneagram, I can help coach you on the use of this amazing tool!
