Watson Farms Pick Your Own 31.10.2020

Our strawberry PYO season will OPEN on SUNDAY June 21! We will be open daily from 9am - 5pm. There are many changes to our procedures and we anticipate a few more before the season is over. We would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience during these challenging times. **Please review our new procedures with your group before coming to pick.**... BEFORE YOU COME IF YOU’RE SICK, DON’T PICK! If you have any of the following symptoms please DO NOT come to the farm: fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, or if you or someone you have been in close contact with has a respiratory illness, or a confirmed or possible case of COVID-19. AT THE BOOTH You MUST purchase baskets from the little red booth, your own containers are NOT permitted. Strawberries will be sold by the basket and not by weight in order to reduce points of contact. Baskets must be paid for at the booth BEFORE entering the patch. The cost of a basket of berries includes the cost of the basket and berries. Strawberry Prices 1L basket $5.00 3L basket $15.00 6L basket $30.00 Debit or credit are preferred but we are still accepting cash. There is a minimum $5 purchase per person entering the field. Children MUST be closely supervised and remain with an adult at all times. Please limit group sizes to a maximum of 5 people and stay together at all times. **you MUST be able to carry your full basket with ONE hand leaving the field** IN THE FIELD NO SAMPLING FRUIT AT ALL IN THE FIELDS. Sorry, due to COVID-19 it is not safe at this time. Please wash your fruit just before eating. Please sanitize BEFORE you enter the field and AFTER picking. NO wagon rides to the patch. Unfortunately, we cannot offer rides as it is difficult to maintain social distancing and sanitization practices. Luckily, the berry patch is close to the green barn and the farthest point in the patch is at most a 5 minute walk from the little red booth. In place of wagon rides on **Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday after 2pm ONLY** (except Canada Day) seniors and persons with mobility concerns will be allowed to drive closer to the patch. Customers must check in and purchase baskets at the little red booth prior to driving out to the field. It is your responsibility to remain at least 6 feet away from other customers - in all directions. Please be safe and respectful to other guests. Field attendants will place customers in every other row to facilitate social distancing. If you’re hoping to avoid our busier times, visit us on a weekday or during the afternoons. Please visit www.watsonfarmspyo.ca for more information. Don’t forget to check the crop report (905) 623-7252 before visiting the farm for the most current information regarding hours and picking conditions. We look forward to a fun and safe PYO season!
