The Montreal soccer community and QCSL family is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Nick Niko Albanis. He was one of the original founders of the first ever indoor soccer complex in Quebec, Sportsplexx Laval in 1994. When many didn’t believe, Niko and his team took their chance. This was the seed planted for many other facilities to follow. A pioneer for soccer who dedicated himself as a player and as a leader both on and off the field to so many players of all ages... with his positive, and generous nature. He was the TRUE captain. A great friend, and brother to us all. Such a great person and humble human being. Niko played for U20 Canadian National Team, Toronto Blizzard, Montréal Manic, Panathinaikos (Greece), CS Hermès Montréal and FC Supra de Montréal. He is a member of the Québec Soccer Hall of Fame. God needed a true Captain to lead his team and Niko was his best choice. We love you brother, you will be truly missed

Earlier today we were saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Mr. Pierre David. He was one of the legendary referees of the memorable QCSL World Cup Indoor Soccer League, and a big part of the QCSL family, having served as a ref for over 15 years. Pierre will always be remembered for his smile, charisma, great personality and his many catch phrases especially: "C'mon! C'mon!".... He will be truly missed, may God bless his soul.
