When #UWaterloograd Morteza Ahmadi visited a dialysis clinic he saw what kidney dialysis patients endure. Patients suffer a lot, physically and mentally, and s...o do their families. The technology hasn’t changed that much in decades, Ahmadi says. Liberating patients from the dialysis process would be an amazing thing. After graduating from #UWaterloo in 2014, Morteza founded Qidni Labs , based out of the Velocity Garage space, to develop an artificial kidney which provides continuous renal replacement therapy for patients - 24/7. President Trump plans to issue an executive order directing federal agencies to educate and treat people with early forms of kidney disease, to make kidney transplants easier to get, and to shift the financial incentives for clinics and doctors away from the existing system that relies heavily on dialysis.
