RE-OPENING UPDATE: Providing In-person Community Care in British Columbia During COVID-19 On Friday May 15th, I received re-opening protocols from my BC governing acupuncture board (CTCMA) and WorkSafeBC to ensure your safety as well as mine in a clinic setting. Re-opening date is May 19th, 2020. Yay!... in a nutshell, the office will basically look like this: Besides the usual sanitizing of the face cradle/treatment table and treatment room door knobs, there will be enhanced cleaning measures before and after each patient which includes all shared surfaces as in front door knobs and bathroom door knobs/light switch with medical grade wipes. All magazines in waiting area have been removed from the office. There will be a printout on the front door for self-screening asking that you not enter if experiencing any Coronavirus symptoms listed. Upon entering you will be given hand sanitizer as well as a verbal screening. Patients please bring your own mask. I will be wearing a mask as well and of course hand washing before each patient as usual. Patient times will be spaced apart to allow more cleaning time and to avoid crossover in the reception area. If you are bringing in a patient you will have to drop them off at the door please. As I receive any further updates down the road I will pass them on. Kindest regards, Sandra

Still waiting from the board to hear exactly what that will look like with precautions but I’m ready to take appointments for the week of the 19th! Soups on! Dig out your Crock Pots and make some beautiful bone broth to boost your immune system. Bake your bones first for an hour. Add to your crock pot with water, a bit of apple cider vinegar to draw out the precious bone marrow. Add some garlic, ginger, rosemary and thyme (both antiviral properties) and any leftover veggie ends. Cook for 12-24 hours. Bone marrow broth has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years and has been shown to help with a weak immune system as well as other chronic health issues. Drink broth daily and stay well!
